My cat will only use certain litter. We have even bought her the one with the crystals which is supposed to be really good and she didn't even try it. She didn't like the texture or something and just decided to pee on the floor. I've tried others that she did like but those usually smell like horrible amonia and tend to get dust all over my face when I clean the litter box and I hate all the fumes going up my nose. Can anyone recommend a good litter? I've tried Special Kitty, Tidy Cats, Cat's Pride and the one with the crystals. I've tried more than that but it wasn't until recently that I've started to take track of what I am getting. I have to clean the litter box frequently or else she wont even bother using it so I want to use a good brand. Any ideas?

I just got a new female kitten (3 days ago) who hisses every time my older cat goes near her. He retaliates by viciously attacking her, licking and cleaning her and then pinning her down and biting her throat or anywhere else he can get his teeth into. She is quite happy to go off and play but he just keeps pouncing on her. I have separtated them for now, although feed them in the same room (I have a cage for the kitten, which she tries to escape from so doesn't seem overly worried about the Tom waiting outside!). Some people say I should allow them to 'get on with it' but I am afraid my older cat will kill the kitten. Others say I should separate them. My Tom is also due to be neutured and I am not sure with this aggression that now is the right time to do it (he is a spoilt cat and I wonder if he'll ever get along with the kitten). Please help!!

I am trying to train him to at least sit on people's laps and to rub onto people like most cats do. He just spends his time outside and when he is inside, he sleeps in the sink and drinking out of the toilet. Any suggestions?

so im a little upset... i brought my cat to the vet a while ago and she said that my cat was very pregnant... and that she should be having kittens soon. The last few days my cat has been acting strange and i thought maybe she was having problems with her pregnancy so I called the vet and explained the symptoms. The vet said that it sounded like she was in heat and if that was the case she may not be pregnant because when theyre in heat their tummy swells. (why in the f*ck did she tell me she was gonna be having kittens any day when she wasnt sure!) anyways she said that i should wait about one more week and if she dosent have them to get her spayed. Well im not going to get her spayed if it'll hurt the babies cuz we dont know if shes pregnant or not now... the vet said the only way to tell is an x-ray and i dont have that money right now. I dont know what to do or to think

My cat is 7 years old and I noticed for the past couple weeks he has been licking and biting his back right by his tail and now he has lost a lot of fur and getting scabs from biting too hard. Does anyone know why he would be doing this or know any remedies I can use to help stop him?

I have a 50” projection HDTV that my cat loves to climb. She climbs behind it and messes with the wires, she climbs on top of it and knocks off the speaker I have sitting up there, which then falls into the screen. Lucky it has not broken yet, but I know it will soon if this keeps up. How can I keep my cat from messing with these things?

Our cat has been fully litter trained until recently. A couple of weeks ago he has begun to urinate in the corners and on our dirty clothes piles and such. How can I stop him from doing this? Thanks.

My parents have a female cat that they've had for years. The cat only had one litter before being fixed. I have one of the cats from that litter. He's about 7 years old now. We were talking one day and wondering if we were to put them in the same room, would the mother somehow know that our cat is one of her offspring? Or would she just treat him like some other cat? Would he recognize her?

Mr. Holocaust (long story) is kinda getting a lil long in the whisker area. I want to cut them off but he's hard little bastard to catch! I'm gonna have to pin him down hard and shut his mouth with some rubber bands or something (he bites harder than my GF! LOL!) Anyway, wanna take them long whiskers off, but just a massive lightbulb lighted up above my head all cartoon like...is it ok to do so? Would he become cross eyed or a retard or something?

Hi, we have taken the cat to the vet. He is just a fat cat with no known health problems. We feed him Iams lite-about 1/4 cup, 3 times a day.

He has been at the same weight for over a year. I'd like him to lose weight, maybe 3 or 4 lbs. He's an inside cat and doesn't get any excersize other than the occasional pounce on a moth or spider.

I am 6 months pregnant and have been told not to go near it, but I have to clean it! How can I teach him to go in the tray? (the breeder swears he was toilet trained)

Recently, our kitten has been able to jump higher than he could and now he's jumping on top of everything and climbing curtains and such. We have a spray bottle, but it doesn't seem to work too well, especially when we can't spray him right when he does it. One of the problem areas is my monitor. He likes to jump on top of my desk then on the monitor to jump and climb up the curtains. I can't use the spray then, for fear that the water mist will get on the insides of my monitor. Don't know what else to do. He almost seems crazed. I'll get him down from one thing, then he'll zoom into another room and I hear crashing sounds of stuff falling and find him on top of stuff I have stacked on my dresser. This has only been happening recently. Any ideas?
