Assuming this is not seizure related then like another poster mentioned try "Rescue Remedy". You can put a couple of drops into her water or directly onto her mouth. It seems to help some cats deal with stressful situations (like going to the vet's). Things like Phenobarbitol are controlled substances that are for very specific situations, not as general sedatives. Another option is to go to your local pet store and look for something called Feliway. This is a product you can spray or plug into the wall like a glade plug in. It emmits pheremones that are supposed to help calm cats down. It works great for behavioral spraying/urination and may help in this situation. Also, a cat having a seizure is not a fun or funny thing to watch. They lie on thier side, become stiff and shake. It makes them feel sick and frequent or very strong seizures can eventually cause their organs to shut down due to brain damage. Still want to watch a cat have a seizure?

My cat has seizures and we took her to the vet and they put her on phenobarbital. It costs my parents about $6 a month and we get 30 pills. She eats two a day. We have a little drill bit and we drill out the center of a cat treat and she eats the treat. It's hilarious.

Oh and she has one maybe about once a month.
