Pet stores has window shelves for cats that fit into most windown frames. I have them in several windows of my house and the cats love to be up there to look outside and take naps.

I certainly wouldn't deprive a house cat of the pleasure they get from looking out windows or picking up a little warmth from the sun.

They have some sticky two sided stuff you can get at the pet store. Introduce him to a window that he can look outside from. Inside cats get bored and need something to entertain them. Don't get too mad at him, the window is like his T.V. Maybe you can compromise and let him have his fun without the blinds. Keep them rolled up all the way while he's there and get some kind of shield for the seal. If not, get the sticky stuff or simply call your local pet store and explain your problem. They will be happy to tell you what you can buy from them.

Sitting on window sills is something cats truly like to do... they watch what goes on out the window. You can buy a window perch at Petco or Petsmart if you truly don't want the cat to muss up your window sill. But don't forget to close the window. The window perch costs from $19 to $40 depends on the ake and brand.

Place clear masking tape sticky side up on the window sill. You may need to do this for a few weeks and after that from time to time depending on how stubbern the cat is. They do not like the sticky tape on their paws so they will not go up there.

Getting on a window sill & looking for "sun" spots come second nature to a cat.
Basically, all the cat is doing is breaking boredom & observing
what's going on out there in "their world."
However,a good deterrant that has worked well for me,is a cotton
ball, with a drop of "oil-of-cloves",held in place with a thumbtack.
Also works well deterring them from sharpening claws on your
furniture by application of a drop on the end of your finger to the
areas that they are abusing.
The clove oil doesn't harm them, but the smell & taste of it will
back them off,RIGHT NOW.

A small rubber snake on the window sill will keep cats away.

Put somthing that they hate (ie: smell, taste),and always give them a quick spritz with a water bottle, that works like a charm!
Good luck!

why? they just want to look outside, are you really going to be that mean and not let them have their once glimpse of outside life? just let them get up there, what harm can it do? that's mean.
