I noticed earlier today that my cat, a tabby, has lost quite a bit of hair on her left leg and is starting to loose some on her right leg. I saw that she licks and pulls at the fur today. I don't know if it may be because of a food allergy. I had fed her Eukanuba when she was a kitten up until the last 3 months. I switched over to Purina One, because it was cheaper. I then decided to go ahead and switch them back onto the other brand, Eukanuba. I have a siamese, and she hasn't seemed to showed any kind of reaction to it, but since I have fed them the food, for maybe 2 weeks now, maybe it's an allergy to the food change? Like I said, I just noticed the hair loss today. Any suggestions? I know that I'll take her into the vet...

My fiance says no, because Pickles will just climb it and pull it down but I love having a tree. Cat owners out there, what have you done?

I just moved to a new place and the situation I am in causes me to have the litter box in my room. Since I would like to cover it for obvious reasons, I bought a new covered one for my kitty. She wouldn't use it, so I took the lid off so she could get used to using the new box. That worked fine, but when I put the cover on, she refuses to use it. Is there anything I can do to make her use it with the lid? Thanks for your help.

Whenever I have ice cream, he always wants a lick. I've let him have a few licks but I don't want to give him anything that may be hurting him or not good for him.

He loves to be petted, but after you pet him for a few seconds. He sticks his rearend towards you. Like he wants to be petted there. I heard somewhere that animals "moon" for certain reasons. Anyone know if this would be "mooning" and why it always does this. TIA

My cat Peter is always bonding and playing with male cats and NEVER with female cats. I think hes been gay for about 2 years.

I dont like to see him isolated and lonley. I give him all the love I can but he has no interest in a straight cat relationship.

Can I get any advise on this? Has this ever happened to anyones cat?

I would really like to get a cat. Unfortunately my husband has allergies, and he's allergic to cats. Are there any species that are not allergenic? I don't mean the hairless ones, though I have nothing against them. Does anyone know what these are like as pets? I heard Burmese don't shed as much... is this true? Sadly I probably won't end up getting one (because I love my husband more than pets!) but I was just wondering what are the options for cat-lovers with allergic people in the house. Any information or personal experiences would be gratefully received, thank you.

I am looking to acquire a new kitty and saw both of the above breeds at a Pet Expo on the weekend. I fell in love with both of them and have spent the morning researching the personalities of each cat, still unable to make a decision on which would be right for us. My partner and I have no children (but plan to eventually), an 8-year old golden retriever and a 12 month old DSH cat. I adore cats and love spending as much time with them as I can, although me & my partner both work full time. Does anyone own either of the above cats? Can anyone make a recommendation as to which one would be better?

My cat Rocky is 9 and recently he has been really licking. I looked to see if I could see any flea dirt but there is nothing. For the past 5 months we switched him from Purina cat food to Science Diet hairball remedy. I looked him over and noticed that his inner thighs are bald and has owies from licking. His front legs also have some hair loss. Can you please tell me what this could be from. I have 2 other cats and 3 dogs and none of them are suffering from this. Recently he has also started sneeezing. I need some answers. PLEASE HELP!

I know that when female dogs go into heat they bleed and you have to buy speical diapers for them. Well I have a boy and girl kitten, they are 5 month old. And I know that when they are 6 months old the girl can go into heat. I want to get both of them fixed but right now i only can afford to fix one of them. I want to get the boy fixed so he doesnt spray all over! But I would rather get the girl fixed first if she bleeds all over when she is in heat. They are indoor cats so i know that she wont get pregnant if i get the boy fixed first! But does she bleed when she is in heat?

I have a 6 month old kitten and NO I don't think she has a headache. But I do see her bang her head off things around the house, and think to my self that she must get a headache from it. How can I tell If shes got a headache? Ive never heard her cry out in pain..would they do that? And if I did think she had one how could I make her feel better?

My 2 year old male was a stray adopted from the local humane society. He came to us with ear mites. We gave him the drops ( he has always hated that/ hard to do) Recently, he started shying away from head pats, does not want to eat and actually looked like crap and is still sleeping alot! I took him to the vet 2.5 days ago where he was sedated and had his ears flushed out. I bought more drops/cleaner for his ears, but I know he is going to fight me every step of the way. I am trying to get my hands some some Revolution topical that kills mites, worms and other pests but my vet does not sell it. I will work with what I have for now. NOw Another one of my younger indoor kitties that is usually full of energy has been doing nothing but sleeping. He sort of eats and drinks and is still using the litter pan. I think he has a fever. He had recently been treated with a topical, so I know he does not have mites or worms. Coincidence that they are both sick? Cat flu in both? Help!

Hello! This may sound weird...but I am totally out of cat food. It is Sunday night, my husband went into the hospital tonight, and my son is on bedrest....and of course, my three cats want to know where their dinner is. I am hoping to make something for them to eat until I can get to the store in the morning. It has been a long day....otherwise they would have food. My concern is that I have a male kitty who can only eat low PH food. (Another reason I can't just go anywhere to buy cat food) I am out of canned tuna & canned chicken. Any easy ideas? Would they eat rice? My cats are in no way underweight (they have PLENTY of "reserves"!) but I can tell they are getting curious about supper. Thank you in advance!
