Hello, 8 weeks is a better age to take from their. The mother carries antibodies in her milk. Definitely take him to the vet. Death among kittens due to worms is high. But I do not believe this is worms. He should have clear eyes, nose, and clean ears. It could be alot of things. I do not want to alarm you- some of the diseases are passed on from mother to kittens. Kittens do sleep alot, but he should be hard playing, active alot. Sounds like he my have a stomach problem. There are things other than worms. does he have diarrhea? or blood? He should be eating like alittle pig. Was he eating already? or was he just nursing? Do not give him milk, this will cause diarrhea. His little insides ca not handle can cat food till about 6-8 months. They are not developed enough. Moisten the dry kitten food with a little tap water. Let it set till soft. Can tuna in water. Not to often. Baby cereal with water- it will thicken as it sits. I would take him to vet as soon as now. Can not go without water and will start to dehydrate in 3 days. He is very young yet. GOD BLESS YOU! sus04mc@yahoo.com

First off, a kitten should never be seperated from the mother/litter and adopted out, until they are 8-12 weeks old. He may not be fully weaned (some take longer than others). Take him to a vet, and see if that's the problem.
