Actually it is a nursing response, if you notice they do it when they are nursing: they push their paws into the mother's belly to suck more and they are purring all the time.

He's happy! A lot of kittens have a tendancy to pur constantly, especially when they're close to their person. I have a black kitten who earned the nickname "PurFuzz" or "Motor Boat" because he was CONSTANTLY purring very, very loudly and just adores attention. He doesn't pur constantly any more but he still purs loudly and still adores attention.

Ok, if you kitten is purring when you pet him/her that means there happy. If the cat is just purring like angry than watch out. Also if there just purring for attention give it to him/her or they will be mad.

purring is a sign that cats are content and happy, they will only purr when they are completelly relaxed and at ease. My cat purrs like a mainiac if i storke under her chin.

Sounds like your kitten is just very happy in your company.

He's happy. But when he gets older, watch out. My cats will be purring and loving on someone than they lash out. They are full of ego. But your cats sounds happy.

I pant like a puppy, and wag my tail, when I am told. I purr like a kitten when I am rewarded for doing what I am told.
