How old does a Bengal have to be to start spraying? Takarra will be 4 months on Nov. 26th. I'm getting her spayed, but it's going to be next month when my husband is done with his truck driving training and I can afford it without having to go broke. She's an indoor cat and all my others are fixed, so I'm not worried about pregnancy. (she can't get out at all she'd have to make it past my door and 2 other doors downstairs to get out.)

Anyways, I'm concerned because sometimes she won't use the litter box. I have 3 cats and 3 litterboxes, including a kitten litterbox that my adult cats won't use at all, but for some reason if she's mad at me or I don't feed her the very second she demands food, then she'ss squat and pee. She's even tried doing it on my bed. If the litterbox has just been changed, she has no problem with using it, but once it's been scooped a few times, she's right back to peeing on the floor. think she may be tying to spray. yes female cats do spray!

Why will cat's ignore the twenty dollar toys you buy them, but spend all day playing with a string tied to a stick?

I recently got a long haired kitten, he is about 8-9 weeks old. I have noticed that when he uses the litter box he often messes on the long hair on his legs and needs his bottom cleaned often. I would like to know if you have had the same problem and if you think I can expect him to out grow this problem or is it something that I'll need to learn to live with?

Also, how often should I brush him (as he gets older)? Right now his hair is like fluff and I have to brush him a couple times a day to prevent tangles.

I've always had short haired cats before. So any advise for long haired cats is welcome. Thanks :-D

There's a cat owned by people down the street and most of the times it's nice and lets me pat him or her. Sometimes it bites when I pat it and holds me with the tips of it's claws. I let go and say no. Pat it again and it still does that.
There's another thing I can't work out. There's another cat (next doors) who sometimes comes to my door for a treat. Lately, for example, he did this.
I was bringing the shopping in and he just raced through the door a few seconds later, but instead of meowing for a treat, he ran straight out. I went to pat him but he didn't come closer, he just kept walking away little by little. until he reached next door.
Was he just racing in for the fun of it or was he agitated that day? Who knows.

for her to chase. It landed in front of the open closet door. She gets in pouncing position, knocks the bottle cap into the closet, turns around then waits behind the door like she’s waiting for something to come out. Then she wiggles her butt, and dives into the closet and “captures” the bottle cap and brings it to me victorious! What has your cat done today that’s half as cute??

I'm sure it is part of their diet when they live outside the home. Does it provide some extra fiber or nutrients that they should be getting from their cat food?

Does anyone have any tricks or tools that work getting the bulk of the cat fur off the beds before washing? Tape isn't doing it, and so far the best I've done is a stiff brush, but it still leaves a lot, vacuum is my only option, and that is a pain. Does anybody make any tool or special brush that works better on these quilted beds? Thanks in advance.. :)

I posted the other question about the 2 sick cats last night but did not have enough words to explain the situation correctly. Melvin is the 2 year old with mites that also lays around. We adopted him and the mites 2 years ago from the shelter. Oliver is the sleeping 6 month old kitten that was always full of energy until a couple of days ago. We have a total of 4 cats in the house, including Oliver's sister, Annie. Melvin and Oliver are the only two that are sick at all. Oliver and Annie were found ( they were dumped during the night) and they had diarhea and were treated way back in June for worms, plus Oliver was just fixed 3weeks ago and given the topical the kills any mites as well. Melvin had a lot of build up in his ears that was flushed out. THe vet seems to think that he is still freaked out by the experience and explains why he lays around. Oliver did play a little this morning for the first time in 3 days. He seems slightly better than yesterday. I'm still concerned.

I got Archie from a rescue home and he does seem to have a problem with men. He has been very settled at my home but since my boyfriend moved in he will no longer stay indoors if I am at work but my boyfriend is indoors. This means that he will be outside in the wet and cold for up to 12 hours a day and then he sulks and will still refuse to come in when I do get home. It's very upsetting as I obviously love both of them. My boyfriend has tried to get Archie to like him but he's having none of it.

I was just reading an artical and it said that onions are REALLY bad for cats. Well I use onions all of the time in my cooking and usually when I go to throw away the ends and the papery outside I miss the can. And if I am busy cooking I wont pick it up until I remember, and sometimes it gets kicked or dropped and I don't see it until the next day. Which by then I am assuming the cats have played with it or sniffed it or what not. Is this dangerous as well? Or do I have nothing to be worried about? Do they have to eat a lot of onion or just a little bit to be dangerous??? Thanks

I'm a very light sleeper and therefore probably not the best candidate for a cat owner, but nonetheless...

I simply cannot continue to lose entire nights of sleep because my 1 1/2 year-old male cat won't leave me alone.

Help!

I have two cats: ages 4 and 2. Well I don't either of them have actually ever seen a Christmas. They were both adopted from a humaine society - the 2 year old lived there her whole life and the 4 year old had been there for all but 7 months of his. I'm scared to put my Christmas tree lights up and all the other lights. I'm scared that they are going to chew on them and get shocked. I know this is sorta stupid to be scared of, but my cats are my babies and I don't want anything bad to happen to either of them. Anyone else share this fear? Has anyone had a problem with their cat getting shocked from Christmas tree lights? Is there anything I can do to keep them from getting hurt? We do have this spray that is supposed to keep them away from no-no areas, but it doesn't seem to work.

Well nothing tempted him then he was sick after he drank a tiny bit of water and started being wobbly on his legs. He is now in the vets on a drip and having blood tests done. I hope to God its only the after effects of having 2 teeth out on Friday and nothing ominous...he is all I have.
Better make this a question so will everyobody cross their fingers please?
xx
