If you've ever seen them in action, you wouldn't have to ask. It's rather barbarric for the female and the males bite the back of their neck. I think female cats are sexually deprived!!

male cats have barbs on the end of their, um bits, lol, the female doesn't actually ovulate until the barbs attach to the inside when the male starts to pull out, so the noised during the act is pain, beforehand they call for a mate to let males know that they are in season

I'm sorry to say, but the reason why females make so much noise while mating is because they are in pain. Male cats have actual, literal barbs on their.....stuff......that hurts the female.
Don't worry they will be fine afterwards, in my opinion it's to keep them from multipling more than they do already.

Because the males you know what has barbs on it that are layed back when he goes in , but go the other way when he pulls out. This is painful for the female, and it is also what makes her release the eggs at that exact moment.

My guess is because it hurts somewhat and well....I would think probably for the same reason we moan while having sex!

that is so normal theydo that when they are in heat too. to call their mate because they want to do it. and they so horny they don't know what else to do.
