I noticed earlier today that my cat, a tabby, has lost quite a bit of hair on her left leg and is starting to loose some on her right leg. I saw that she licks and pulls at the fur today. I don't know if it may be because of a food allergy. I had fed her Eukanuba when she was a kitten up until the last 3 months. I switched over to Purina One, because it was cheaper. I then decided to go ahead and switch them back onto the other brand, Eukanuba. I have a siamese, and she hasn't seemed to showed any kind of reaction to it, but since I have fed them the food, for maybe 2 weeks now, maybe it's an allergy to the food change? Like I said, I just noticed the hair loss today. Any suggestions? I know that I'll take her into the vet...

Mange immediately comes to mind since one of my dogs, as a puppy, displayed the exact same symptoms.

RINGWORM, as someone else suggested above, is also a possibility ... and you do need to be careful because that IS EXTREMELY CONTAGIOUS TO HUMANS.

Flea bite allergies are common. Food allergies as well.

Has something happened within the household that may be causing her stress or has upset her.
If so she could be over grooming in that case and her front legs are the easiest to reach..

If it was ringworm, your other cat would have it as well (you too) as it is highly contagious.

If she had an allergy to the Eukanubra there would be a rash as well, and not just her front legs.
Another allergy - has she been walking through any weeds that may cause reactions?

Fleas - she would be licking her belly and tail area more than her front legs.

Good luck with the vet

My cat was losing hair on her back legs and we took her to the vet and the vet told us that it could be fleas, and they're driving her crazy, or that she may just be pulling it out. He said not to really worry about it unless you start noticing red or blotchy spots, then take them to the vet for a check up because that is a sign of mange. Hope that helps. Peace. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Until you take her to the vet, try to keep your distance cause that might be ringworm. It could be many simpler things of course, including, as you said, allergy. My cat lost a lot of hair on her thigh once and it turned out to be allergy and was treated by creams.

My cat looses hair - develops bals spots - whenever there is a flea problem... turns out, he is allergic to flea bites. Did you check your kitty for fleas lately?

It could be a food allergy...could also be flea allergy....could be she's nervous???/...and possibly ringworm.
I'm sure she'll be fine soon, cause you are clearly a responsible pet owner!
