Does anyone have that poem that deals with having to have your pet put to sleep? A friend of mine found out today that her cat has to be put down because he has an enlarged heart and will die a horrible death if she doesn't put him down.

She tries to jump out of my arms within 30 seconds of being held. Otherwise she is a very attention-seeking cat who loves to be petted, purrs constantly, and sleeps on our bed all night.

I would think that when a cat walks by a mirror, it would look at itself out of curiosity, but it doesn't. Isn't it curious about the other cat? Of if it knows the other cat is himself, isn't he interested in knowing what his own image looks like... even for just a second? Instead cats seem to avoid looking in the mirror.

I have an appointment with the vet on Monday, but what can I do to relieve my kitty's cold symptoms until then? I feel so sorry for her, with her little nosy all chapped from sneezing and running.

My cat is acting really weird...
Ok heres the story...
I have an orange tabby cat...
The past few days have been akward...He has been acting funny...Ever sudden movement and he jumps and hides but when he realizes its u he will slowly come out from hidding place to u...He is normally a motor boat..He will purr his head off even in his sleep..I have never been around him when he's not purring...And now he wont purr...
Me and my sister think that someone has been messing with him..almost in an abusive way...
My cat lives outdoors..I would bring him in but we have a dog and a bird and it just dont work out we've tryed it...
So please tell me how to get him to warm up to us like he used to...We've had him for 4 years so he knows us...
What could be up with him? do u think we are right with saying that he is/was being abused...? How can we get him to stop being so jumpy?
I would never hurt my cat, he's a part of my family...
Just please help...thanks...

When cats use your garden or flowerbed as their personal outdoor toilet, these normally tidy pets become a major frustration. Not only do they make a mess, but the foul smell can be dreadful! How can you stop this instinctual habit?

We're a small dog rescue in Shasta, California, but came across a cat yesterday that we're going to take in and try to find some care for. His name is Ahab. He was a feral cat that was being taken in, fed, and domesticated by a Good Samaritan. Sadly, Ahab got into the engine compartment of her family truck without anyone knowing it, and when the truck was started Ahab was sucked into the engine and injured. He seems to have ligature and nerve damage to his right rear and left front legs. He can still hobble around, and can eat, drink water and eliminate in a litter box without too much trouble, so we believe he can be rehabilitated. We are in need of funding however to help pay for his vet bills and physical therapy. We're a "no kill' facility, and will keep Ahab until he is well, neutered, and made ready for adoption. Could you help us find funding resources to assist this cat?

I'm in New Jersey and I'm cat-sitting a big black cat that's jumping around everywhere in my apartment. I want to be able to work. How do I make it chill the fxxx down?

p.s. It's got everything it needs: food, water, litter, toys, blankets, fresh air, attention, etc. but it keeps bothering me.

I came home relly late last night and my cat was sitting @ the door waiting 4 me, and when I picked it up, it bit my mouth after a while. Maybe cuz it smelled the smoke on my breath?? But I scolded it and did not let it sleep in my room, I closed the door. He had to learn, was that good or bad? Then this morning it bit my leg and tried 2 run away, then when I got the belt out it started to act right. I didnt spank it though. ( and I do not beat my cat when it is bad. I say NO and may spank his bottom or sid echeek from time 2 time when it is really bad)

I just started cat sitting for my sister today while she is on vacation. She won't be back until next week. Her cat scratches all the time and I think she has fleas. How quickly do flea collars or other medicines work on cats? I want to get rid of them fast so the fleas don't get all over my house, but I want to make sure its safe.

My cat is an approx. 7 years old male.We got him as a rescue cat only 2 years ago and we noticed in the first few days that he was being sick but we thought it was just stress of moving but took him to vets just incase and they said that without an op they wouldnt know what is up with him but as an educated guess its Feline Irritable bowel Syndrome and we started him on steroid jabs but they didnt do anything for him.We spent a fortune on special diets and he was still sick.we dont know what to do, we cant afford surgery to see exactly what is up with him and he is suffering. He has recently gone from being sick once or not at all a day to 2-8 times a day and i recently noticed parts of the vomit was red like blood (it may be his food as the biscuits are red). Its distressing for us, for him and our other 2 cats.Should we consider putting him to sleep? I would feel so guilty though because we put my dog down and i regret making that decision for her and i dont want to be without my cat
