i have a siamese and she's really affectionate.
she would always sit on my lap and likes to be cuddled and stroked.
i love cats (and dogs too) and i guess it doesn't really matter what breed they are as long as you love them, they will love you back.

I think with cats and animals in general you get out of the relationship what you put in. I brought home a ferral kitten and another kitten from the animal shelter and the ferral ond hid for two weeks, i gave her a little attention every day and now both of them are equally friendly. It's always better to get an animal from a shelter that is in need of a home than go looking for a specific breed, moggies again would be healthier as mentioned earlier. They all have their own personalities and likes and dislikes but what you give to them you get back twofold.

Siamese are fab. I have had several over the years and they were all great companions with loads of personality. I now have a Siamese, a Ragdoll and a Bengal. The Ragdoll is lovely and very cuddly but doesn't have the same nature as a Si. The Bengal has a strong personality but is also a little moody!!

I would always say that a common "moggy" from a rescue shelter will always be a good cat. The last cat that I had was called Reggie, he been abandoned and ill treated. He was a lovely gentle cat and was very good company for my father who was very ill. He sat at the side of my dad for hours on end and when my father passed away a couple of years ago Reggie, bless his heart, pined away, refused to eat and died himself a few weeks later. The vet told me that this was by no means unusual. Siameze are lovely, I remember one from years ago that was very friendly and had the most amazing coloured eyes.

Ragdolls are best for companionship. They're a breed that likes to be touched and held. They have an attribute that when you pick them up they relax their muscles and allow themselves to be held. I have a male and a female from the same breeder but separate litters and they get along well and are great companions for me.

I vote for Ragdolls (can you guess?) Did a LOT of research for just the right breed, and have never regretted my decision.
They are soft, floppy, affectionate and laid back (unlike the Siamese).
They have a very soft voice, follow you around like a dog, and have wonderful personalities! Many are true lap cats, and all of them are snuggly. :-)
I have a number of them, but a favorite is a kitty that actually hugs my leg to get affection, follows me every where, LOVES to be show at cats shows (really sucks up to those judges). She plays fetch, gives me "kitty kisses" on command (and on and on).
I just adore this breed. Feel free to visit our website. :-)

Do a good deed and save a life, goto the local shelter and adopt a kitten that needs a home, the breed doesn't matter, they will all make great companions.

i have 3 british shorthairs, 2 male and 1 female. My shorthair blue is lovely, like a teddy bear with a real laid back temperament and loves cuddles. The female is less sociable so I wouldnt have another female personally. my Silver spotted is gorgeous! He begs for attention and purrs continuously and just always want to be with you. I would have a house full of them if I could!

Manx cats . . . their personalities are more like dogs than cats. They are quite social, love to play and are just clumsy enough to not engage in typical cat climbing. Also, if you have kids around, there is the built-in benefit of no tails to pull. I've had three and they were all like that. I miss them all.

Get a Maine Coon cat-they follow you everywhere, are very affectionate and easyoing-dog-like. Also, they are a sturdy, large breed-no running in and out your legs so they can't cause someone who might be a little unsteady on their legs to fall.
