Cats - August 2006

I have 3 cats at home. I just found out my friend at work has 2 cats with Feline Leukemia. It isn't like my cats are going to visit hers, but I have been to her house - and when I get home, my cats are all over me (probably because I smell like her cats.)

Is this a problem? Could my cats catch this from something on my clothes or am I worrying too much?

i was at a party with all these drunk kids, and the guy whose house it was had a cat who'd just had kittens. and this one lil kitten was really kinda slow and didn't look very healthy, so they where jokin around about what to do to it,

and so finally this one guy whose always into doing something stupid was like "ill do an ozzie ozbourne and bite it's head off if you each give me 5 dollars"

so they did and he bit the poor kittens head off. im like still havin nightmares about it and im just so angry and want to do something, but what should i do or who should i call? i dont want people to know i was the one who told and then think im a loser

i heard that they are because it is rare to find a male calico cat. almost all calico cats are female. i heard this like 5 or 6 years ago, and ever since, i have checked the sex of them whenever i get the chance. so far, all of the ones i have encountered are female. has anyone else ever heard of this?

I'm new to owning cats, even though I've loved them and adored them forever. I owned a new little darling. I want to ask about when your cat licks you. I've read many FAQ's and scientific pages on this but none answered my question. I know that when your cat licks you, it's a sign of affection and acceptance. What I want to know is this: my cat licks my hair, face and upper body a whole lot. No matter how many times I push her away she just keeps on doing it, especially if I just released her (she has a special room for when I sleep). So, is there any medical harm from this? Does cat saliva contain harmful bacteria or anything that can hurt you, especially when they lick a sensitive part such as your face? Does licking harm your hair, skin or well-being? I'm looking for a *scientific* answer if possible (a link to a credible source, preferably). Many thanks in advance.

By bf and I are housesitting at the moment, in a big house with a garden. Some neighbour's cat keeps coming to the backdoor meowing like crazy, he keeps sitting there for hours if we don't open the door, and if we do, he comes in and keeps on meowing inside. well okay...there has been this adorable lil tabby cat thats been hanging arounf my house for a few days and she has to be just a few months old. well i have a sweet and loving 1 yr old kitten. and for a few days ive been feedin this lil tabby cat, and my one cat has been at the door watchin me pet her and everything..and this may sound crazy but im 99.9% sure my cat is MAD!! she wont love on me or anything..just sits there lookin at the door..and i was wondering..if i should keep feeding and pettin the cat and just hope that my cat forgets it..or just stop feedin the kitten all together?
