By bf and I are housesitting at the moment, in a big house with a garden. Some neighbour's cat keeps coming to the backdoor meowing like crazy, he keeps sitting there for hours if we don't open the door, and if we do, he comes in and keeps on meowing inside. What does he want from us?? Food, attention, or what??

The cat seems very well fed, he's rather fat, actually. So I don't really feel like feeding him. And we give him lots of affection, because he's really sweet, but sill he keeps driving us crazy!!

If it seems like he wants attention then give him some attention. If the people you are house sitting has some pet food give the cat a little bit of food. Either that or call the people you are house sitting for and see what they have usually done when the cat came over.

The cat is probably upset and wants to know where the other people are that belong at that house. He is missing them. I would just give him some attention and if you have any food maybe feed him. The other people probably fed him even if he is kind of fat.

Are you sure it is male? If it is really fat it could be a pregnant female looking for a place to have her kittens. It sounds like the people have taken care of the cat in the past, maybe you should call them and ask if you should feed it? Good Luck!

Total subjugation! You will serve his every craving, feed him a small tidbit of food, and then, eh will acknowledge that you are proper servants to his needs!
In the Creation, we were given dogs and became very vain, as we were worshiped with unconditional love. It was too much!
So, the cat was introduced to us, to teach us some humility!
It works quite well! Dogs are so much like men, cats so similar to women!
And, the fish don't seem to care!

the people you are housesitting for probably feed and water the cat. so most likely that is what it wants. if you are giving it attention and that isnt working try feeding it and see what happens.

If your neighbors are not taking care of the cat, perhaps the cat is asking you for food or/and water. More worryingly, the cat might be in pain, although the first possibility is more plausible, working with what you provided.

YES... he wants food, attention, and whatever your willing to give. Obviously, if he comes around... he must be accustomed to being fed. Cats are territorial and he wouldn't be there if he hadn't been rewarded earlier.

Attention. That may include attending to his food craving, or just stroking and talking to him to acknowledge you know he exists. You've encroached in his neighborhood territory, so you may need to get his approval!

Am so NOT a cat person. They are aloof and no where as affectionate as dogs.
