i read in the paper a few years ago that britains oldest cat was 25 and still going!

i know a few cats who have lived past the age of 18...but the average life expectancy of a cat is about 12-16 years.

The Guinness Book of Records says the oldest living cat was 37.

21 is an excellent age. Ours is at 16 right now and we'd love her to live to 21.

I have a 22 yr old cat. That is 100 years in a human.

We have a cat sanctuary here in northern CA (brighthaven.org )that only takes cats fifteen years or older. They have a number of cats (75 in all) that are well into their twenties. The cats have a diet of raw meat and they are treated homeopathically by a number of volunteer vets. Many of these cats have renal failure, cancers etc.

So though I cannot answer your question I want you to know that old age is not a disease and with good care a cat can have a long and happy life.

I believe the oldest living cat is 33 years old, I remember seeing it in the paper. Mine isn't doing too bad at 18 though!

I had a cat who died when he was 21, which is 147 in cat years, but my aunt had one who lived to be 27, which is 189!!
