Cats are very possessive, and yes she is probably mad, cat emit their pherimones through their noses or glands near the nose, she is smelling the other cats body smell and well she may not like it and is mad at you, stop feeding the other one and get back to making ur one kitty kat happy again

Cats are VERY jealous animals. My cat got jealous of my first son when he was born. He was so jealous that when my son was learning how to walk, the cat saw how unstable he was, and jumped at his chest and pushed him down with his paws. After I scolded him my cat avoided me for a long time. Eventually when he wanted my attention again he came at me in a very apoligetic way. I know it sound silly but I told him "you better not do that to the baby again" It was almost like he understood. He never treated my son like that again. My son is now 8 and is my kitty's best friend! They grow on eachother eventually!

Show them equal amount of attention. Or at least 60% of your attention to your 1 yr old, and 40% to the new tabby cat.

I've 4 cats at home, and I try to shower them with equal amount of attention.

When I pet one of my cats, the other will stare, and I'll move over to give her a pet or chin scratch so that she won't feel neglected.

cats can smell other animals, cats. after you give the other cat its food and some attention wash your hands and if you held it change your shirt. this way your kitten will not smell the other cat so much on you. yes cats definatly do get jealous it will get over it.

its mean if you dont feed the kitten...try letting your cat know she is also appreciated...give her some attention as well as the kitten so that she knows she is still being loved by her owner...
