Your cat probably will get sick eventually... its fur is always wet and you probably have the air conditioner on in the house. Also, you are probably bathing your cat with some sort of soap... which will end up drying your cats skin and making him itchy.

Cats are actually very clean animals that always bathe themselves... why does this cat have to have a daily bath?

Just Wondering...

Hi there...once consequence which is a very known fact is that cats don't like being bathed/showered--a statistical fact that any vet can confirm. However, there are some exceptions, but those cats who like being bathed are unusual. Unlike dogs, cats are exceptional at grooming themselves so there's no need to bathe them and it will be one less thing for you to do as well. :-) Additionally, bathing them daily would present another set of problems--dry irritated skin, which quite discomforting for a cat, a small possibility of a respiratory infection because the body temperature lowers once out of the water into room temperature creating a chill effect to the system. BUT...if you want to bathe a cat daily consider using unscented baby wipes. All cats spend a large percentage of their days grooming themselves and they are experts at it. They use their barbed tongues and lick dirt and debris off their fur in order to keep it clean and odour free. Cats with long hair may require the occasional bath if their fur gets too oily, but with regular brushing that may eliminate bathing. There are also occasional times when your cat's fur may get excessively dirty due to some mishap that the cat has gotten itself into. In some of these cases it may be necessary to give your cat a bath, but generally it isn't required and sometimes babywipes will be all that is needed if that's the case. :-)

YES, he will get sick.
you should NEVER give a cat any baths, unless there is a very good reason. the only bath our 10 year old cat ever had was when she was a baby and she got too friendly with a skunk. even then, all we did was rub tomato juice all over her and rinse it off. she spends almost as much time outside as she does inside, and she's fine. my mom is alergic to cats, and has no problems with this arrangement.
i'm sure a lot of people will say that you can bathe cats often without causing them any problems, and even that it is a necessity. i think they are wrong. they keep themselves perfectly clean 99% of the time and don't need baths. bathing cats often poses many dangers..
- the natural oils they produce to keep them slick and protect their skin are washed away. this could cause serious skin problems
- they will walk off and lick themselves clean after the bath, which means they will ingest whatever chemicals you washed them with.
- if they aren't properly dried, they can get sick very easily from catching cold

yes, they shed. yes, they get hairballs. but they always have done both, they always will, no matter how often they are washed and groomed, and they are well equiped to deal with both by themselves. just make sure your cat has access to some grass that it can use to purge him/herself and if that is not possible, use a haiball protection formula dry food or paste, and they will be fine.

The cats skin will dry out. A daily bath is to much for animals.
If your cat is inside, every 4-6 weeks is plenty.

That is not normal for cats. You will probably end up irritating your cat's skin - they have sensitive skin. Cats can have baths occasionally. Another side effect from bathing your cat too often is more furballs you cat will cough up from trying to lick herself/himself after every bath. You don't want that mess. Brush your cat daily, and only give a bath 1-2 times a month with cat shampoo. Make sure to dry to cat afterwards.

As everyone else has said to you, a cat does not need a bath. There is actually a special chemical in a cat's saliva that acts as a cleaning agent. So that is why cats are nice smelling and clean after they bath themselves!

it will dry his skin and therefore affect his coat - you should use very gentle cat shampoo and cat conditioner (quality stuff not crap from wal mart)

he wont get sick as long as you dry him properly and keep him warm while drying

cats dont need baths unless there is a medical reason for doing so... infact most cats can go their entire lives without having a bath

First, ascertain the tub is easily needed. many situations, floor airborne dirt and dirt can purely be bumped off with a heat, damp towel as adversarial to a suited bath. Getting a cat thoroughly moist would properly be volatile for many reasons. Their fur would get tangled, they might capture a chill out, and their epidermis would exchange into aggravated later on. it relatively is no longer common to dry a cat thoroughly after a tub (when you consider that they many times decide to run away and/or conceal) so in case you will desire to bathe her, attempt to stay away from chilly or drafty aspects till she has dried out. additionally, taking care to maintain water out of her ears jointly as she's being washed. this would help in averting ailment (ear an infection.) offering a dry towel (or 2) for her to twist up in later on is a sturdy concept. The towels will soak up extra dampness. stable luck :)
