Yes I think they can. One of my cats had seziures, so why can't they have autism? They are very complicated animals! Go to a vet, just to be sure that it is ok.

Well, you haven't had any answers from vets or animal experts. Why would you expect to find them here?
The diagnosis of autism in humans is not always easy to make. No one would consider to look at the possibility in a pet.

Because the diagnosis of autism would require significant behavioral observation, and reliable demonstration of lack of normal behavior in a cat, I doubt that even if the disease was present in cats that anyone could diagnose it. What is "normal" behavior for a cat?
I think that there are plenty of diseases that require our attention, and autism is not one of them, at least in animals. In humans, it is a much different story.

My step son has autism, but it would be hard to see animals getting it, if they did how could you tell

yes, some cats can be extemely un-sociable but could tell you how many grains of kitty litter are in their boxes at a glance.
