I've never heard of spanking a cat...hmmm...I don't think that is good to do. Considering they are so fragile and everything. That's why I dislike cats though, cause they do their own thing and you can't discipline them. Ask your vet about the biting thing. Not sure on this end.

Your cat probably was giving you a sign of affection. A little "love bite".
OR it was trying to get your attention. We have a number of cats, but one totally charms me - she occasionally gives me a love bite, or if I'm ignoring her she may actually jump up and hug my leg (no claws involved here). This may or may not be accompanied by a love bite. She always gets a response from me though - she's so cute!!
To discourage this behavior, put your cat down and walk away - she'll get the hint. Even it she is giving you a little love bite, do the same if she bites too hard and it hurts.
The fact that she was waiting at the door for you indicates she was looking forward to your arrival. :-) How sweet.

Your contemporary cat became hit, thrown, had issues thrown at it - for sure it would not choose any human contact! do not attempt to puppy, stroke or flow close to it. IF or maybe as the cat is able to (it would want to take YEARS, or it would want to by no ability be waiting), enable it to go back to you. by no ability punish the cat. NO cat should be picked up via the scruff of the neck, both - purely mom cats ought to ever do this. No cat ought to ever be positioned right into a service as a punishment - they're going to affiliate the service as something to be feared, that should not be very sensible once you want to get it to a vet. As for feeding 3 cats in a row - cats should be fed remote from one yet another. i have were given 3, or maybe if theya re all fed mutually, the dishes are aside. One at one end of the eating room, yet another at the different end, and one interior the middle (laminate flooring, with wipeable position mats less than the dishes) you do not realize cats in any respect.

Your cat is probably biting you because you use a belt on him. That is called abuse. Your cat is acting out just the way any human kid would. You hurt him, so why shouldn't he hurt you back.
If you feel the need to discipline your cat use a spray bottle and spray him with water, only you have to do it when he is in the process of being bad. You can't wait because then he won't know what your spraying him for. Don't hold him so close to your face, maybe he doesn't like that and biting you was his way of telling you so.
The way you treat this cat makes me really sad. I think you need to get a pet rock.

Was the bite on the lip a love bite or was it mean? I had a cat that kissed that way. I picked up my Jack Cat once, he was all purring and cuddly, then suddenly he slapped my face really hard with his claws out. I felt like an abused lover, threw him down ('cause it scared me and it hurt) then I sat on the floor right in front of him and cried. He actually had the good grace to look ashamed of himself and it never happened again. Your little kittly misses you...he wants you to know he was lonely and felt abandoned. Kiss him, hug him and forgive him. These little critters are the closest we will ever come to unconditional love.

Some cats bite to show their affection, believe it or not. I know that doesn't sound good but most of the cats at my mom's house "love bite" and they obviously aren't doing it because they're mean but that doesn't make it hurt less for me. I tried spanking them a little which doesn't really seem to work. Usually I just try to pet them and love on them until they start that up and then avoid them for a minute until they seem to calm down

Apparently you've never heard of a love bite...Is this your first time ever owning a cat? God, most people know that cats and kittens tend to be playful and frisky and sometimes resort to playful love bites.

If you could, try to go under the chin, and go up hard, hitting its nose. My cat behaves better after that. Any way, if it is a outdoor cat, put it outside after. Then it will know not to do that again. After even if it as night, or raining.

My cat will bite occasionally, for several reasons. Either she wants attention, she's feeling frisky, or she wants me to leave her alone. Try getting her attention focused on a toy when she does it.
