Hi there...Happily, humans and cats cannot share their cold viruses. Feline upper respiratory infections (URI) are only contagious among cats only and human cold viruses are contagious among humans only. You both just happen to be unfortunate to be both sneezing. I have included weblink below that explains URI and how it is contracted and how it cannot affect humans as well.

I don't know that cats can catch colds from humans- but they do catch colds. My oldest cat discoverred the joys of lap-kittyhood when she came down with a cold about the time she was originally scheduled for some booster shots a few years ago.

Mcleod is right. The term that is used is "species specific"

Zoologists have now traced the AIDS virus back to wild chimpanzees in Africa. The virus mutated and the chimpanzees were killed for "bush meat". That's supposedly how it came to infect humans.

The Ebola virus is also a mutated form that has moved to human beings. I think they have traced that back to bats. No absolutely sure on that one.

No. It is strictly coincidence. You can't give a cat a human cold virus, and they can't give you theirs.

If your cat is sneezing she should see a vet. She has an upper respiratory disease.
