for the past few days I've been noticing little white specks all over her body. she is all black so the white specks show up very well. could this be dandruff and if so, what should I do? it is such a hassle giving her a bath because she absolutly hates water. is it necessary for me to take her to the vet? I don't know what these white dots are on her. my 5 month old male doesn't have any at all on him. I can't remember the last time I gave her a bath so I don't know if this could occur from not having a bath or not. if you have any suggestions please answer. I brush her regularly too. every other day at least. what are the white specks? their everywhere on her! other than this little issue she is a perfectly healthy, lazy, and fat house cat.

She is itchy from the air conditioner that has been on for the past two weeks. She has what appears to be dandruff. She eats very good catfood, and it has sunflower oil (linloiec acid) in it for healthy coat. Should I supplement her with other fatty acids? She HATES baths and I rather not subject her to that torture. Is there anything else for her skin?

I know people that have cats and they live outside. They leave a basket in their shed for it to sleep in and it roams wherever it wants and always comes back. they have been doing this since it was a kitten. I would never do that because i would be scared it would run away. i just take my kitten out for walks on his harness and he doesn't even like being outside. Is it possible for a cat to live a full and healthy life outside?

I asked a vet and they said some cats are just pukers? The problem is she throws up almost everyday after she eats and makes a mess in the house. It really is gross and I feel bad for her. I want to do something to help her.

I know this is going to sound really petty, but I'm very worried about my cat who I haven't seen since dinner time last night. My sister is telling me that I'm too worried, but I've had my cat for 7 years and this is the first time she's failed to come home at night.

An older cat (around 4-5 years) and kitten ( <6 months). They don't seem to mind each other and will even lay near each other. However, every now and then one will confront the other usually in a timid fashion, then they start sniffing (just a little), and then the bigger one essentially tackles the small one and they remain locked in what looks like a wrestling hold. They will bite at each other but it doesn't seem to be hard and the larger cat will even lick the kitten. Very little vocalization goes on but every now and then they re-shuffle and will use their hind legs on each other. I don't know if I should break it up or let them go on that way. Please help....

I have nothing against vets in general but I'm just wondering how many people here are in the vet. field or working to be a vet. Because every answer I see to ANY problem seems to be take her to the VET... just in case. Just wondering.

Hi,
I know of someone that has a litter of kittens, ready to leave their mother in a week. I've been thinking of getting a kitten for a while. Now I'm wondering should I maybe get two? Is getting two better than one? Would they be company for each other? I know it would be more cost and take more time to look after but that's not an issue. Also, what do I need to buy for a new kitten? Food, litter box and cat litter.....anything else? And, if I get two, should they each have their own litter boxes? Thanks in advance.

I am getting a new couch and I do not want my cats to ever use it to go to the bathroom like with my previous couch. I got them an electronic litter box to make sure they always have clean litter (which should help) but I was wondering if there is any spray or such that would deter this type of recreational activity?
