Hey baked! If you are trying to decide whether you want to adopt a kitty, I think thats great, as long as you plan on having them spayed or neutered.

Males, neutered early, like before their 6 mos old, will never get the instinct to be territorial & start spraying, they will just be big love bugs. My 2 males are so loving, their personalities are diff, but, they are still soo sweet.

I also have 2 females, (all indoors) both spayed, tend to be more domineering, but, yet are soooo loveable.

You cant loose with either, as long as you get them fixed early! It also prolongs their life span!

Thanks!

Male cats are generally more affectionate, not aggressive. They will spray if not neutered at an early enough age. I've just got my first little boy and he is very active and does like to play bite me.. I'm trying desperately to get him to stop.

All the other cats I've had have been female, and they're personalities differ greatly. I find they mellow a lot once they are fixed. Some are very lovable and others keep their distance. They tend to pick one person in the house as their favorite. Males may be the same way, I'm not sure.

it's not male or female. but cat to cat.

each cat has it's own personality.
once the cat has been spayed there really aren't any difference.

I have two cats (male/female). my male cat is way more affectionate and territorial than my female cat is. on the other hand, my female cat is much more laid back, calm, and lazy than my male cat. she sleeps alot, and he doesn't. they're both great in their own weird little ways. I LUVVVVVV THEM!!!!!!!

Becky: they only spray and roam if you don't neuter them. my male is neutered so he doesn't do that.

Males will nip when you pet them its called"love bites" which just hurt.Males spray and roam more and tend to be less clingy and not as willing to be petted.
