if your not driving hold your cat and pet her, just knowing somebody is there for her will make her feel calmer. or talk to her in a calm, caring voice, the sound will soothe her!

A vet can give her a seditive that will keep her calm. Get it from the vet and follow the instructions carefully. You may also want to try is once a few days before to see how your cat will react and to try giving it to her as many cats dislike pills. most owners of nervous cats will use this during a long, necessary trip. It's much easier than riding for several hours with a howling cat.

The only time I take my cats in the car is when they go to the vet, and they're always in a pet carrier when they're in the car. When they start to squall, I try to put my fingers in the front of the carrier so they know that I'm there (this requires someone else driving because there are two cats, and I usually take both of them at once). This usually helps, as well as the long car ride to the vet's and back that puts them to sleep.

In a carrier, windows up, air conditioner on, radio off! and no tranqulizers. get a sheet and cover the carrier so the cat can't see the movement for that frightens them terribly. Make sure that kitty gets the proper ventillation, and make sure it goes to the bathroom before you leave and don't feed it before you leave. I have been doing this for over 20 years, Don't forget that important seatbelt, even if you have to turn carrier sideways. kitty will stop howling after a short while. all will be fine if you do this. If it is a long trip, have a new litter tray in the vechile and scent free litter. You may be able to chexk out kennells in your area, visually check them out first!! Your vet may do this for you or suggest a good one in your area.

If it is a long car ride, ask your vet for some tranquilizers. I drove across the country with two cats and that is what I did. It makes them groggy and they sleep more.

You can either get the cat used to car rides by taking him or her on short trips or get some medicine from the vet.

To avoid drugging the animal..... as long as your cat is in a carrier, put a sheet over the carrier, cats find this soothing, and it calms them down.
