We recently brought in a stray cat. When he got treated with Advantage for some fleas, he scratched the back of his neck until it was bleeding and bald. I know he hasn't been properly taken care of and he was fairly malnourished when I took him in, so I am pretty sure the hair came out easily because of that. Anyone else ever encounter this? My other cats scratch themselves but have never pulled the hair out or bled. I am just looking for ways to get the little guy healthy again, so any suggestions to make his skin and fur stronger and healthier would be helpful!

I have one cat who seems very happy and content, but people have told me she needs other cats around to socialize with. Is that true? Or can cats be happy in one-pet homes?

I inherited two cats and I have hardwood floors. When the cats leave the litter box, they track litter everywhere. I have tried clay, clumping and crystals. I have also tried a litter box hood, rugs, and a little cat mat, but I have to sweep 3 or 4 times a day and vacuum, and I just can't seem to keep ahead of it--suggestions?

My cat Dixie is gaining quite a bit of weight, if she can't cuddle with me or be attached to my hip, she eats. If she's bored, she eats, not that there is always food available. What can I do about this?

My momma cat started having her littler of kittens on early Monday morning..........This morning(Wed).....we discovered that she had another kitten. It didn't survive, as a matter of fact it didn't look like it had been alive when it was born. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

When her bowl's empty and she's meowing, that's when i normally feed her.

I have a small (8 pd) dog that is old and touthles, and she is in danger from the cats. I was going to trap them until I found out they live across the street. The lady who owns them is dying so I don't want to bother her.

I have had my cat for 3 years. He is an outdoor cat and has never had any shots. He has come home with a few scabs and scars but all in all he is clean and has no fleas and is in really good shape. I have heard that cats need regular visits to the doc. Is it true?

My cat is male, and my girlfriend's is female, both fixed. Every once in a while, they'll just pee on something. Today, my 9 month-old daughter started crying in her playpen, and when I went to see what was wrong, she was screaming and holding up one of her favorite toys, which was SOAKED with cat pee! Should I just throw them out, or is there something I can do to stop them?

Ok, what's going on here? I treated my three cats with Frontline Friday afternoon last week, here it is Tuesday night and they're still biting at their fleas??? These things are still alive on them and my kitties are irritated. I thought they were supposed to be dead within 48 hours?

by the way, the soap dish thing is working well....better than any spray so far.....I've caught at least 100 fleas in the soap.

And also, I just got my kitten, it is 8 weeks old, when should I take it to the vet? The owner said it hasn't had any shots yet.

I have 3 equally healthy cats... a 2 y/o fixed male and two 7 y/o fixed females (litter mates). The male has a wet nose and also drools like crazy when cuddling. One of the females has a dry nose, but drools while cuddling and the other has a wet nose and does not drool. With all these combinations, and all behaving the same, how can I tell which is ill if any of them are? Could ALL of these things be normal for cats??
