My cats are indoor cats, but mosquitoes do get into the house and I wonder if they will infect the cats...

Why doesn't my vet give me heartworm pills for them?
Should I get them the pills?
I don't know why all of a sudden I am worried?-they are 11 and 4...

yes, they can get heartworms. they do make heartworm medication for cats, but i don't worry about it so much as i have indoor cats also. i have not had a problem with heartworms in 26 years of having cats, but that's not to say it couldn't happen.

cats can be infected by a mosquito but i dont know if they can have have prone to heartworm im not a vet but i love taking care of animals.thats all my dear friend u can email me at keronixz at yahoo.com

cats can get heartworm, not as prone because indoors mostly, if you feel more safe treat the cat

Cats can get heartworm; that's one of the things your veterinarian will check for during their regular examinations.

yes cats can get heartworm.i would say if your worried about it.ask your vet to check your cat.dog to what i understand are at higher risk because they are outside more.but i would ask your vet to check your cat for heartworm

They are, but dogs are at bigger risks. Heart worm gets in by a mosquito bite. Dogs are more likely to ignore it and cats usually will chase and kill it.
