My golden retriever is about 4 years old and recently he has been extremely hyper. He won't stop jumping on people, and he won't stay put for a single second. He is always running around and never calms down. It is like this all day until he sleeps. Is it possible for me to get an obedience instructor/trainer to help make him more behaved? Will that still be able to work considering his age?

We have lived in our townhouse for 1 1/2 years, we are moving next weekend. There is a cat in our neighborhood that we have seen outside almost everyday for the entire 1 1/2 yrs. It is the coolest looking cat I have ever seen. I told my husband that I would keep the cat if I saw it the day we moved. Yesterday it showed up at our door on 2 different ocassions and it was waiting at the door this morning when I left for work. It is now inside our house... should we keep it and possibly take someones pet or let it back out to continue to fend for itself in the cold?

I am dogsitting a Corgi and she has not pooped since Saturday (today is Thursday). Is this normal?
She is still eating, is energetic, and her belly doesn't feel tight or distended. Everytime I take her out for a walk (3 times a day), all she does is pee. I have not found any poop in the house anywhere.

I pick my female cat up last night by her mid section and she growled and hissed at me She has never done that to me,. Then this morning instead of picking her up I just slightly touched her mid section and she started to growl. She is eating and walking and going to the bathroom normally she is even playing and rolling around. She just does not want anyone to pick her up or touch her mid section. I don't have the money to take her into the vet for x-rays and exam. Please help should I wait to take her into the vet for a couple more day to see if it get any better. Please help.

Do they come in solid colors, for example can they just be green with no spots or any other color on them? And is this rare?

I have two shelties, and every time they go outside, their paws are packed with snow, and I get to spend 15 minutes pulling the snow out! Is there any way to avoid this without buying dog booties?!

My 8 month old shih-tzu has suddenly started using our bed and our couch as a toilet. She was sort of toilet trained and now this started. I tried telling her off firmly for the last month but doesnt seem to work. My holidays are soon over so she will be left home alone again for 7 hrs a day. We have the nicest dog walker that comes and takes her out for 1.5hrs while we are at work. We normally leave our bedroom door shut when she is alone but would we be able to leave living room door shut too? Our couch is nearly ruined and she would have approx 7m hallway, kitchen and bathroom to roam in. We have a garden too but am terrified that someone will steal her. I walk her too and she has garden. She was trained on the puppy pads but now refuses to use them.
So what I want to know is: Can we leave bed and living room door shut during day? Will it work? Or would that just be cruel? She really is the friendliest nicest dog and my only other option would be to cover couch in cling film :-)

I want to buy two more female rats, but I don't know what to look for to make sure they are not sick. Obviously I am unaware, b/c all 4 of my rats just died. I am going to wait a little while to get two more, I'm just wondering what it is I should be looking for to make sure they are healthy... Thanks

I got a new puppy he is the cutest thing ever. Trying to toilet train him at the moment and its going ok with a few accident but thats to be expected. He is going through a phase of nipping which we are training to get him out of. He also seems to have what looks like eczema on his skin, i thought this was fleas but i cant see any. I am taking him to the vet this evening to get him checked out.

We have only had him 3 days so we are doing well so far, bu i wondering if anyone had any tips for toilet training, biting or skin conditions?

Many thanks xx

i have a girl dog ( 2yr old poodle) and I just found a dog on the street about a month ago and decided to keep it male dog ( 2 yr old poodle) neither are neutered.

I don't want them to have babies, so i decided now that we have two a boy and a girl we should neuter them, my question is what are the outcomes in terms of behavioural change. they are both super cute and hyper. Will that change after the surgery?
thanks for your answeres

The crickets that we feed it go directly into the log (in the cracks) and it doesnt give the lizard a chance to eat them! What can we do to make sure that they cant get into the cracks, that isnt going to hurt the lizard?

My dog is due to deliver at anytime and I have been checking her temp for 2 weeks (as recommended by my vet), but her normal temp is anywhere from 99.0-100.5. I asked my vet and she thought this was weird (but proabalby her normal), but that is the consistant temps I am getting at the same times everyday. My vet told me about the temperature drop prior to welping, but has anyone else experienced a dog with a normal low temp? Her puppies dropped 6 days ago, she has milk leaking, she started losing her mucus plug last week and I took her to the vet 2 weeks ago for an ultrasound and the vet said she estimated it would be about 1-2 weeks until she welped. Please do not leave any negative comments. This is my first time breeding my lab. She is registered as is my male. I have taken her to the vet several times and I have done my homework, just never heard of a normal low temp. Thank you!

We have discovered that our baby is very allergic to our cat and we need to get rid of it. She is 5 years old and very sweet, her name is Mrs. Sweets. We don't know anyone who wants a cat and do not want to give her to the pound. We would prefer to give her to an animal adoption agency that keeps them until they find a home. Please help?
