Why would any straight guy get a dog that fits in your coat pocket? I can't seem to fathom this.

Ok I just got a sweet kitten, but I have never had a cat before so I have some questions.

How old should she be before I start giving her treats? And how many in a day?

Should I give her a bath while she is young so that she gets used to the water?

How much food should I give her, ( the box says 1/4 to 1 cup which seems very vague) and should I feed her once a day or more then that?? She is an indoor cat, and I dont want to overfeed her and make her fat, although she gets lots of excersize chasing things around....

And she is very aggressive when it comes to hunting (a fake mouse, a piece of wrapping paper) I am sure she learned that when she was young, as she was found in a barn with her mom in the cold before I adopted her from the spca, but shoudl I do anything about that aggression??

I had a dream that there was a dog attacking another dog and the dog was trying to get my sister-in-law but all she was trying to do was get my 1 year old nephew away because the dog was next to him but the dog tried to attack her in the process but when i woke up from these dream i was really scared that i couldnt even move what could this have to do with?

I have 3 cats. They had ear mites awhile ago but not anymore. They are all scratching and shaking their heads all the time. I took one of them to see the vet last monday for a check-up. No fleas, no ear mites and no ear infection. He said that they all have allergies. He gave her a cortisone injection. I didn't want to at first but gave in because I want them to stop itching. She is about 3 years old and was very lively, now she is very calm since the shot and she doesn't scratch herself but once in awhile still shakes her head. I don't want to give her those shots anymore because she is not herself. For those who have cats with allergies, what did your vet prescribe or what are you giving them for the allergies?

I set up my aquarium yesterday but it's doesn't have any gravel or anything in it yet. When I got up this morning there is black residue on the bottom of the tank. When i put my hand in the tank to see what it was it just dispersed in the water like powder in the air. I know the filters have charcoal in them and would assume that its from that. Is it normal to have this?

My Beardie may be sick. Two days ago I changed his living environment from carpet to sand. As a result he ate some of the sand when eating his crickets. Since then he hasn't eaten at all and is barely moving. Can I rinse his stomach?

the fish does it constantly. It reminds me of how animals in a zoo pace back and forth in their cages. Is this the same reason my fish does this? (I also have a loach that has started doing this). I have several other fish, none of the others have this behavior.

i know how to make fish's water (getting rid of chemicals in their water) but how do i make tropical fish water, is it just normal water but warmer? do i add any type of salt??? also if its just normal freshwater (but warm) will they still breed? THANKYOU

Hi everyone, i just wanted to get a few opinions, as i am calling the vet this morning after they open but i wanted some of your opinions. I have a 3 year boston terrier she has always been regular on her cycle, however she had puppies August 29th. almost 4 months ago, (this was her second litter) i noticed last night that she is showing signs of coming back into heat, which is early for her. I was planning on having her spay before her next heat which shouldnt have been for another couple of months. but now since she is showing the signs that date may be pushed up sooner. Can she safely be spay if she is in fact coming into season. She is My Baby I have had her since she was 2 weeks old, she was a bottle baby, I do not want any harm to come to her and i know that having her spay is the best thing for her, like i said i am calling the vet this morning after they open i just wanted a few of your opinions on the idea. thanks in advance.

i have an indoor cat whos only just gotten fleas.. i dont know where they have come from and i dont know how to get rid of them. i've tried everything.. i gave him a corse of 6 tablets while using frontline, a flea coller and bathing him 3 days after putting frontline on him.. i also bombed my apartment.. he was fine for about 3 days after this but more came back.. i dont know what to do... please help... any suggestions are more than welcome...
