Leave him alone. There is nothing wrong from drinking out of the tub. The water tastes different from what is in his bowl. If you want him to stop, keep the door closed.

Drinking from teh tub will not hurt the cat, just as long as there aren't any soaps or chemicals in the water that he is drinking that could hurt him. If you would like him to stop, shut the bathroom door, and scold him for drinking out of the tub when you see him doing it. Make sure the cat knows what he is getting in trouble for. It may just be a bad habbit that you need to break.

Ok, there is nothing wrong with the cat drinking out of the tub. You can close the door when you are not in there to keep him/her out. If they are drinking out of the tub then they are probably drinking out of the toilet & the sinks too if there is water in them. A cat will be smart enought to not drink the water as a rule if it has like soap in it. There is not anything that you can do to get them to stop doing it. My cats do it all the time. My oldest cat is 15 years old and still does it. It hasn't killed him yet!! I hope this helps! Good Luck!!

There is nothing wrong with this, I have an auto waterer too and my girls still drink from the tub when they can. The more water your cats drink the better for them.
If it really bothers you then just shut the door as others have suggested.

My cat drinks from the tub, the kitchen sink and the toilet when he can. They just like it and it won't hurt them. Shut the bathroom door, that's all I can say.

Many cats prefer running, fresh water, like they would find in the wild, and a bowl of stagnant water does not interest them. If he likes it, let him have the water. Why do you want to stop him? Are you determined to have control over him? There is no harm in it.
