Ok I know that ferrets are illegal in California. I was just wondering what would happen if someone tried to do that. Would they get stopped? Questioned? Oh yea, by the way has anyone ever done that. Would appreciate all the information I can get.

My dog recently suffered a head trauma from running into a fence post while playing with another dog. Since then he has developed a fear of my husband. Whenenver my husband enters the room, my dog tucks his tail and runs to me or huddles up into a corner. My husband has taken this personally and is now very aggressive toward the dog. He makes sudden kick movements and yells which makes my dog urinate. It has now escalated to the point that today my husband tried to pick up my dog who defensively nipped at him. Now my husband says that if he ever successfully bites him, that I will cry because he will break the dog's neck. The dog is very nice and sweet with me and his kids, and most everyone who comes over to the house. My husband won't listen to my reasoning with him, that my dog's behavior won't change without his behavior changing. Should I give the dog away? What should I do about this situation?

Does a dog not depend on us for food/shelter?
Does a dog not have feelings?
Does a dog not get sick?
Does a dog not need exercise and stimulation?

I understand that a dog is not a human but I want to know why people treat them so differently than they would a child?

Would you make your child live outside? Would you wait weeks for medical treatment for a sick child? Would you feed your child crappy, low quality food for life?

What I am asking is: If you view your dog as just a dog...why? For the people who make their dogs live outside and for people who feed their dogs (Purina, Iams...)....Why?

My older sister and her fiancee want to get a dog but are uncertain of the breed they want and their are certain requirmets. They asked me what I thought and i'm not really an animal lover so didn't l nkow what to do. So dog lovers please help.
1. Size they don't want a big dog that would be hard to walk and stuff so german shepards, golden retrievers, and big dogs are out.

2. Child friendly: They are in their twenties and will have children so they want a dog that will be child friendly and won't be jelous, so dogs that bite and are really loud are probably out because they don't want it to wake up the baby and don't want it to hurt the bby.
3. Sheding and dandruff: They are pretty busy and stuff so they don't want a dog that sheds a lot, because they have to work and stuff s othey don't have a lot of time to do this.
4. Their are other dogs on the street so they want a dog thta won't bark.
5.Strenght: They dont want a really strong dog cuz they are not a lot of places towak.

Do pet rabbits typically need to get any kinds of shots? Can they carry disease if they bite someone?

My neighbor's dog is a very intelligent and kind dog, but I can't believe that she lets the dog babysit her baby when she goes out of the house! The dog doesn't do anything bad to the baby, I just find it very outrageous and strange. What can I possibly do? Should I call the cops on her? P.S. She doesn't trust humans to look after her baby, but she would trust a dog...

Hi all,

I have a 21 month old son for a while now my parents female border collie keeps trying to mount him. I have no idea why. She tries to stay out of his way when he comes towards her but as soon as his back is turned she heads towards him looks like she sniffs near him and then mounts his back.

Has anyone had any experience of this and is there anything i can try to kerb this reckless randiness???

Many thanks.

I've never had to go to the vet before, so I was hoping I could get some answers on a few questions I have..

1) In general, do I need to pay a bill immediately or is there some sort of payment plan I can do? Is there a deadline or something I need to pay by?

2) I have a seven month old cat that I believe has a cyst growing. She hasn't had any shots, so would I be able to get her shots and her condition taken care of in one visit?

3) How much would shots cost?
How much might it cost to take care of a large cyst?

4) What might happen if her condition isn't taken care of?
Is it lethal/guaranteed to be lethal?

5) Is there something else this might be instead of a cyst growing on her stomach? It appears to be growing under her fur.

I'm very worried about her and hope that I can work something out with my parents financially to get her taken care of. She doesn't seem to be in any sort of pain or hindered in any way, but I don't want to have to put this off any longer.

Thank you. <3

I read online that you are supposed to worm puppies at 2,4,6,and 8 weeks old.I think 2 weeks is too soon,so I started at 4 weeks, didn't see any visible signs of worms,at 8 weeks a couple of puppies left round worms, tape worms, and a couple of hook worms, which you don't know they have until they expel them. The problem is not all of the puppies expelled anything and yet all of them died, so I don't know if it was from the worms or the medicine. This has happened to all of my lab puppies this year and my dogs have had a lot, only a few have survived after I gave them away.I don't want to keep them all,I would rather give them away to good homes than have to bury them. They were all beautiful and colorful dogs.I have a batch right now that are 3 weeks old and I would like any answers right away so that they won't die too.I know it's not parvo I've been through that,it is defenitley worms but how do I keep them alive without killing them with the medicine? Thanks

So I brought my bunny home...and my cat is very curious. when my cat is in the room i keep the bunny in his cage. my cat has been watching the bunny in its cage a lot. recently, he went up to the cage and was sniffing the bunny, and purring. and then tried touching the bunny with his paw. do you think if i let them both out, my cat would try to eat the bunny? or try to be friends?

I paid a lot of money for a nice condo . My roommate is divorced and has a ten -- year -- old boy . The boy lives with his mother and spends weekends with us . The boy and his mother want to move to where he can have a dog . The boy wants the dog to spends weekends at my place . He insists he's house trained . My brother once had an outdoor dog . When my parents had to take care of this dog, my cousin said "He's used to going outdoors, so he WON'T go indoors !" . This dog peed on my parent’s carpet just the same . Somebody gave my former roommates a dog, and claimed he was house trained . He peed all over the afghan my Mom knitted for me . I don't expect dogs to be perfect, but I haven't had much luck with dogs who were house trained . WHY haven't I had much luck with dogs who were house trained ? Does a dog get confused by a new home ? Do dogs mark their territory like cats do ? Should I give another dog a chance ? If this dog doesn't work out, can I exile him ?
