Ok I know that ferrets are illegal in California. I was just wondering what would happen if someone tried to do that. Would they get stopped? Questioned? Oh yea, by the way has anyone ever done that. Would appreciate all the information I can get.

CA F&G used to have an arrangement with a shelter in Nevada but that shelter had to close.
The chances are that the ferret would be taken and destroyed. If I recall right the current fine by CA F&G for a found ferret is at least a thousand dollars.

You would not get the ferret past the luggage inspection in Cali. They would take the ferret, and most likely have it euthanized. It's a dumb law, but a law that they enforce, so please don't try to sneak a ferret in and have the poor thing be put to sleep for no reason other than you live in a state you can't have one....

i dont think that would be a good idea. if ferrets are banned in cali, most likely there will be no veterinarians that could help you if they become sick..and trust me, ferrets can catch many diseases and its easy for them to become ill and its very important you keep up with all their vaccinations to maintain their good health

Not sure what would happen flight wise, however your ferret would be euthanized by CF&G if its found.
