The crickets that we feed it go directly into the log (in the cracks) and it doesnt give the lizard a chance to eat them! What can we do to make sure that they cant get into the cracks, that isnt going to hurt the lizard?

Also... should the bearded dragons eat the crickets every day? or every other day?

Take the log out everytime you feed it.
Oh by the way if you don't dip your crickets in calcium, your bearded dragon can develop huge lumps on his legs. Ask uyour pet store what to buy, alot of times they don't tell you this.

Besides taking the log out, you could feed him in a separate bin. Some dragons don't take to this very well, but sometimes it's the best option.
You shouldn't leave crickets in his viv after feeding time. Crickets will chew on your dragon and stress him out, not to mention make sores on his body!

If he's 0-6 months, he should be eating 2-3 times a day, as many crickets as he can eat in about 15 mintues.
6-12 months: 1-2 times a day.
Over 12 months, about 30 crix a week which can be given in a couple large amounts, or just a few every other day.

But if he's a young'in he should be eating at least a couple times a day.
Make sure to have fresh greens and veggies available every day also.

With getting any reptile you need to make sure you have the right info.

You should first and foremost have a full spectrum UV bulb on him during the day so that he will be able to digest his calcium. If he does not have it he will develop bone decay and "rubber like" bones.

Be sure to coat your crickets in calcium powder (sold at any pet store). Also make sure that he doesn't eat any substrait (bedding) because he can become impacted (not able to poop) and die.

My best recommendation is to take him out of the cage and place him in a large Tupperware and feed him in that. I would feed him 1-2 times a week depending on how warm you are keeping his cage.

take the log out and go to a reptile shop and ask for a log or a pice of wood so that crickets will not get in the cracks

or just buy other things for it
they love heat rocks
