Cats, unlike dogs, do not have regular cycles. they can go in and out of heat pretty much constantly. The best answer--ovariohysterectomy (aka spay). Most vets like to wait until a cat is not in heat, because it's a much longer and more delicate operation when the uterus is engorged with blood. However, finding a time when she's not in heat could be difficult. Spaying won't just stop your irritation, it will also prevent a very dangerous condition called pyometra. Essentially, that is an infection in the uterus which is most often treated with an emergency ovariohysterectomy. (Emergency=Much More Expensive.)

cats come into heat every two weeks untill they get pregnant. then when the kittens are four to six weeks old, mother can be in heat again. the only way to fix this is to get her spayed, you can go to the humane society and get a spay and neuter contract paper, take it to your vet and they will give a discount, so it will help out with over pet population as well as save you some money.

Well, you could have her spayed. There are free clinics that offer this service all around the world now, and you might want to check with your local humane society or shelter to find out when. Another thing you can do is call your vet. He may be able to intervene with a hormone shot. See what he recommends.

you think u got it bad, my indoor cat has went into heat 4 times, she was 3months old the first time, then got spayed at 4, then she did again about 3weeks later, each time lasted 7-10 days then 3weeks later here we go again.
The Worst part about it is that she gets off on the sound of my voice and follows me all over the house dripping (yea, eew) and rubbing her head in my funky work shoes while she murrs (meow&purr at the same time).

Cats do not go out of heat until they are mated. Until you get her spayed, she will continue to meow and want to get out of the house.
If money is an issue, call your local animal shelter or ASPCA and see of they can refer you to a low cost veterinarian for spay/neuter services.

You did no longer say how until eventually now she had the muddle of four kittens. If she remains nursing them, then--NO, a vet won't spay a nursing mom cat. yet, if the kittens are weaned (no longer nursing on mom) and her milk supply is dried up, then specific--she would be spayed, whether she IS in warmth. verify around with some greater vets. you additionally could have a woman who unintended have been given out and mated spayed and aborted on the comparable time. it quite is greater intense priced, notwithstanding it quite is achieved. sturdy success in looking yet another vet who will "Git-R-achieved"!

Your only real solution is to get her fixed at the vet. When cat's are in heat they want to mate. It is just as painful for her not to mate as it is for you to have to hear her meowing. You will do her, and your family a great service if you just get her fixed. If she accidentally gets out and gets pregnant then you will add to the already horrific number of unwanted pets out there. One more time. Please get her fixed.

Please get her spayed. It's healthier for her, easier for you and you won't be contributing to the HUGE pet overpopulation problem. Volunteer at a local public animal shelter for a few days and you'll understand.

If the cost is an issue, most communities have very low cost programs available. Contact the animal control or SPCA in your area for a list.

How come you don't do research yourself? Your kitty will keep going into heat closer and closer together until she is pregnant or spade. If she is not spade and not pregnant, she can get cancer of the nipples and other serious diseases and it is emotionally torture to her to always be in heat. Why have you not had her spade-look up HALRescue.org on line for help with the cost.
