I have a kitten and my roommates have a puppy. We are having issues with the animals being around each other because the puppy is chasing the kitten non stop. When the kitten is on the ground, the puppy will pin the kitten down and play very rough, sometimes pulling on the kitten. The kitten is learning to get to higher grounds to avoid the puppy though. Even though the kitten is on higher grounds, the puppy still goes nuts and obsesses over the kitten by trying to jump on the furniture to get to the kitten. It is starting to damage our furniture, and it is getting really old fast. Its to the point where its a bother to have them in the same room. Soooooo I was told that squirt bottles are a good method for behavior training. But then I did some further research online, and some people are highly against it. I was hoping to get more opinions or another method that will work.

Rory, my beloved Great Dane, and Sampson, his beautiful black lab brother, have shown alarming tendencies towards atheism or at least certainly a non-Catholic belief system. I have no idea what to do about this. Are dogs mostly non religious? I have tried walking them over by my local Catholic Church, just to let them sniff at parishoners that are going to and fro. One night, out of desperation, I was going through the rosary, and they both seemed sadly disinterested. <>. It bothers me that they have not been baptized, or any of the other important sacraments. How do I get them to be more attentive to this????

He just got over a phemona and he was doing better, eating and all. But now he won't eat again and when I checked him the other day the bottom of his shell is like purple and blue in spots. It's also very weak and not getting any stronger..I'm afraid of it getting so soft it'll fall apart. But I have no clue what's causing it to become softer..not enough moisture? Not enough nutrition?

I've been force feeding him baby food because he won't eat, and I force feed him a liquid calcium medicine..but it doesn't seem to be working.

I thought this would be fun. A change of pace from serious answers all the time. How well can you read a dog? Do you think my crippled dog in the picture is giving warning or does he mean business?

I currently have one who's known to be pretty evil - she doesn't even like me and I feed her. I'm taking two one year old cats of my daughter since she's joining the military as an officer. How in the world do I get the current one use to the two new ones to the home?

I told a coworker how the kittens were all girls and she said it was very rare for litters to be all of one gender. Is this true?

I know I saw this before, and dang if I can find it, but in the puppy packs to new owners, (I do not like the centers one and this has got to be special for one new owner in particular) what are some other Ideas.
I got 11 pups, (See my other questions) but one pup is very special, she is going to a friend of mine that was attacked in her home My friend went into a hospital because of this, she is having problems, another friend and I took her this morning
to keep her focused on her goal to recovery we were talking about her new baby (pup) I think this is the only thing now keeping her going, What do you think we should place in her "Puppy Kit" Other than the normal.
We have a crate coming, and like to get more ideas.
Thanks!!!!!

I have puppies who are now almost 3 weeks old. I have looked up tons of info on weaning them, so please don't tell me HOW to wean them, I already know. I want to be sure I START it at the right time. but i have found several different opinions. I have heard I should start weaning at 3 weeks of age. I have also head I should start at 5 weeks. Which is best? I want to do this right?!

Im sure they are worth every penny, but I want to know if theres a way to find people who breed but dont have papers, or aren't AKC registered. I would consider adopting, but there aren't puppies very often for adoption. Im in the Cleveland Ohio area, and dont know what to do.

Anyone have any advice?

Rescued really. Some little [[[insert whichever creative wording you like here]]] were beating the heck out of him, saying he was a witches cat and bad luck because he has a black coat. Anyway after a trip to the vets and a few days peace and quite he seemed to pick up,enough to drink some formula (only just being weened). He's been with me a couple of weeks now and seems perfectly healthy, but every single night he's been making such aweful noises, meowing, wailing,it's basically non-stop from the moment I head to bed. He's fine during the day.He has free range of the house during the day, except the bedrooms and sleeps either in the Living Room or Kitchen at night. Any suggestions on what might be the problem and how to help it?

have two great cats I spoil to death.

adopted a feral cat that has always remained hostile and scared since we met him. Hoped giving a home would make him happy. He never warmed up. Bit people and scratched, and fought with my other 2 cats regularly.

Ran out the door about a week ago and never looked back. I attempted to look for him, but no luck.

This cat was clearly wild and was already street smart when they captured him. I don't fear for his survival based on that experience he's already had. He is fixed and has his shots, at least.

I'm not going to keep looking for something that doesn't want us and was so violent. If I happen across him, I'll do what I can for him, otherwise, I'm just wishing him well. Is that terribly wrong

Hi there we have a 12 1/2 week old black lab and lately she has been having some sort of discharge from her vagina. It started out as a off white color and it is now a brown color and it also is doing it a lot more. My vet told me before that it was vaginitis and it will go away when she goes in her first heat. But is this brown stuff normal? Should I be concerned or is this the process of having a female dog? Also how old are females when they usually go into their first heat? Thank you

I have a standard poodle who is almost 13. He has incredibly bad arthiritis in his hips and is having a hard time getting around like he used to. He is on a few medications, but I feel like it's mean to let him live this this. On the other hand, I've had him all his life and I don't want to lose him! My parents have hinted that his time is coming, but when do we know that it IS the time to have him put down? Or should we allow for a natural death? Any advice?

Can anyone tell me what age a cat's testicles drop? I have written down 6 months for dogs but nothing on cats.

Thinking of getting 2 cats as we don't have the time to devote to a dog. Live in a village have 4 kids age 3mths, and 2, 3, and 4 years, have a big house and massive garden. Never had cats before, what do I need to know.
