Long story short, i adopted a dog 4 yrs ago, Bella. A few months ago we adopted a puppy, Zoey. They don't get along at all. I asked before and asked the vet and we ended up spaying Zoey, hoping to help our problem. So far no such luck. Zoey has out grown Bella and jumps on her. My family trys to take Zoey out for a long walk or run as much as we can but she is still so hyper! Zoey is 7 to 7 1/2 months old. Zoey is not the only problem. Bella gets almost jealous when she is around.

I saw some all natural pills at the store that are supposed to calm down your dog or puppy. Should i try them with my dogs? Are they safe? Has anyone ever used them before?

I have a close friend that has recently taken an interest in getting a dog, but she wants an english bulldog which is way out of her price range. Long story short, she found one that is up for adoption but is incontinent. My friend is VERY absent minded and she is very impatient! Despite my explaining that it is a medical problem, she thinks she can house train this pup! I know it doesnt sound like its my business, and maybe it's not, but I just hate to see this dog go to someone that I know wont have the time it will require to be cared for properly. So my question is, what do you think is the remedy for this situation?

Any suggestions help! (Sorry it was so long!)

What breed is my dog?!

I got her almost five years ago, and when I got her, they simply called her a "terrier-poo"....a terrier poodle mix...but didn't tell us what kind of terrier...or give us any details beyond that.

Unfortunately, I did get her from a pet store, because this was before I learned the horrors of puppy mills. I am definitely assuming that they got her from a puppy mill, due to the fact that they couldn't even tell us what kind of dog she was. I feel horrible that I supported puppy mills, even once, but there is nothing I can do about it now, except never support one again.

Anyways...any clue as to what kind of terrier she might be mixed with? Do you think she is even a terrier poodle mix? We have been looking online ever since we got her to try to determine her mix, but we're still not sure!

It's a shorthair with a blue coat, I think. Also, the ears are generally folded over. I can't seem to find an information on this cat at all and I think they're sooo cute. D:

If so, what was the easiest way to train him/her to sit still and not try to eat the toothbrush? So far I'm thinking it's going to have to be a two person job....

Why is it that you say adopt to save a pet from death, but never NEVER buy from a pet store or individual? I thought the idea was for all animals to have a chance at a good life. So if you really care about ALL pets,,,then why is it ok to leave a pet in a store to suffer,,but not ok to leave one in a shelter to suffer? I don't understand the prejudice involved here. You say it's to 'not support' BYB's, but by doing it this way, you are actually saying that if a puppy is being sold in a pet store, or someones yard, they do not deserve the same chance at life as other puppies.Ya'll say they are bad quality, but we don't know the quality at all of shelter pups either. Do puppies with a price tag deserve to be refused a good home, simply because of where/how they were born? Just curious as to how you guys feel about this?. If both shelters and byb's pups are pitiful, why does one get your support,,and the other your abandonment?

There have been a few questions lately that have included statistics or comments regarding death rates. Please don't include culling of neonates in your number unless it was for a birth defect.

Thanks for your input... I'd just like an idea if my averages and thoughts on it are way off base.

my 5 year old cat has been lethargic, & not really eating or drinking for the last 3 weeks. I've taken him to my vet, they tested him for Feline HIV, leukemia, ran blood test and still have no answers! He's been there three days, my bill is getting bigger and bigger....what do I do?? I want him better but can't spend a whole lot more on VET bills!

My cat pooped on my counter. Is there anything I can use to keep him off of it? Smelly stuff? Yelling at him is useless, as he is deaf. The next time he does it he's out, and I really don't want to do that.

My cat is a real talker and he's very loud. He belows almost, and he won't stop unless I'm giving him constant attention. I've tried to hold him and pet him to calm him down in hopes that he would go to sleep but he doesn't. Instead he just jumps out of my arms and walks all over the house meowing more and more. I live in an apartment and I'm really afraid that my neighbors will complain about it. Is there anything that I can do to stop this from happening because I don't want to have to get rid of him. Oh and he is neutered so I don't think he's calling out to the females. He did only get neutered about 6 - 8 weeks ago so maybe he hasn't had enough time for the hormones to subside. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

She sleeps all day and runs around all night.
Will catnip calm her down or make her act crazier.

Are that many people blind to the truth behind these shelters?

The friend I am getting the Puggle from is NOT a breeder, her and her friend have a purebred pug and the other a purebred beagle and they mated (not intentional on the owners part) the puppies are almost ready to go. My friend is not selling the pups, she is giving them away to people she knows. I know what is required as far as vaccinations and vet care but am curious as to any special care a puggle may require beyond the standard normal puppy care. Also, I have done research on behavior but as most sites I found were those made my breeders fear they may be biased and not mentioning any negative aspects about this type of dog. As soon as she can my friend is going to get her dog spayed so it wont get preggers again so please no negative comments regarding that.

I want to get my little greyhound something special, what she loves most is food. So, should I get her a steak or something? Don't dogs like raw meat better? And that is ok to give it to them raw?

While I was taking a shower my cat sneaked into the bathroom. When I stepped out of the shower I noticed my cat was there and quickly covered up, but never the less it saw me in all of my naked glory. Is this wrong? Will they take my cat away from me if anyone finds out?

dogs and doesn't instigate or attack, but when he meets new dogs he always snaps at them and growls when they try to sniff him too long. Is there something I am doing wrong? I usually hold his leash a little bit taught in case they fight so I can pull him off, could that be the problem? He generally settles down if they have a chance to hang out, so am I just reading too far into this? Its pretty funny to watch him sometimes, especially when he meets big working dogs, but I don't want him to get hurt.
Thanks.
