What breed is my dog?!
I got her almost five years ago, and when I got her, they simply called her a "terrier-poo"....a terrier poodle mix...but didn't tell us what kind of terrier...or give us any details beyond that.
Unfortunately, I did get her from a pet store, because this was before I learned the horrors of puppy mills. I am definitely assuming that they got her from a puppy mill, due to the fact that they couldn't even tell us what kind of dog she was. I feel horrible that I supported puppy mills, even once, but there is nothing I can do about it now, except never support one again.
Anyways...any clue as to what kind of terrier she might be mixed with? Do you think she is even a terrier poodle mix? We have been looking online ever since we got her to try to determine her mix, but we're still not sure!

A puppy mill is where people irresponsibly breed dogs over and over again...producing sick puppies just for the money. They often breed many different breeds of dogs, so they don't really know what they're doing...once again...all they care about is the money! They are horrible...
The dogs are often in HORRIBLE condition, and are kept in tiny, cramped living spaces. Go to these links for more info...

Get your self a copy of the "Dog Bible" you will find every sort of dog in there and it gives detailed descriptions so you can go by size and everything. They do a DNA check at the vet now also. I would say she is a cute-T-poo :)

Your dog definately has poodle in it. I would guess she's a shipoo (shih tzu/poodle) but only because they are most common- she could be any terrier/toy dog cross poodle really! They all look pretty similar. Poodle crosses generally come out looking like little mutts with wavy fur and button noses- they're not curly or pom-pom-like as you might imagine.
Just look up shipoos, or maltipoos, or any other poo and you'll see they look pretty much the same. Why people breed them and make hundreds of pounds/dollars I do not know. (am not indicating you).
Honestly- some of the suggestions some people above have made are a bit silly. I know what all dog breeds including poodle crosses look like- the pet store person was right. There is no way she has jack russell, fox terrier, schnauzer or affenpinscher in her. No way. I don't think she has yorkie either, as they usually have a little bit longer hair, like a moustache under their nose.

Oh my goodness, she's cute!!!!!!
I definitely see poodle. I also, like others, thought shih tzu rather than terrier at first. But, she does remind me a bit of a couple of yorkie/poodle crosses that have been in my puppy classes. There's also the chance she could be maltese/poodle.
Sorry, sometimes it's hard to tell when two breeds are mixed!

Hello,
I am a pre-vet student and have had much experience with different breeds. This is definitely a hard cross to choose exact matches to. I would, on my best judgment, assume that this is a fox terrier, shih-tzu, and poodle. This is all assuming that it is crossed with a poodle at all. Also look up a Affenpinscher. This is a very rare type of small dog. But you'd be surprised how much your dog looks like this one! Hope this helps. But no matter what she is... love her for her "different" characteristics!

personally id say shitzu x poodle rather than a terrier
(please note shitzus come in many different colors)
the face shape definatly reminds me of a shi-tzu!
i dont realy see much, if any terrier in there.
im glad you learnt from the experience and will not support a mill again, and im glad shes well loved!

I agree with angie, it does look schnauzerish (sp?!) lol
And suedetteuk: a puppy mill is a horrible place where dogs are kept in cages their entire lives and used to breed millions of puppies just for money, not for betterment of the breed.

My best guess based on her marking up the face and feet is a JRT - Jack Russell Terrier or Parson Russel Terriers. She could be a mix of any type though, sadly - because of the puppymill background.

schnauser mix of some sort...kind of a benji looking little lady. cute as she can be...
the pet mills make me cry.
any sort of a mutt from a mill is a good pet, you rescue an animal and that is the good thing, the owners and operators of mills ought to be dragged out and publicly hanged.

IM SORRY I CANT TELL WHAT KIND OF BREED YOUR DOG IS, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THIS. IF YOU LOVE IT AND IT BRINGS YOU LOVE, PEACE JOY, AND COMFORT IT REALLY SHOULD'NT MATTTER WHAT BREED IT IS ANYWAY. WE HAVE 3 DOGS. WE LOVE THEM ALL. MY OLDEST COST THE LEAST. SHE'S A MIXED BREED AND SHE'S WORTH TEN TIMES WHAT WE PAID. OVER THE YEARS SHE'S PROVIDED LOVE, COMFORT AND BROUGHT PEACE INTO THE HOUSE. YOU CAN'T PUT A DOLLAR VALUE ON THAT. THE BREED DOESN'T MATTER. WHAT MATTERS IS HOW YOUR DOG ENHANCES YOUR LIFE. THEY LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY, THEY'RE LOYAL AND PROTECTIVE AND EXPECT LITTLE IN RETURN. WHAT MORE COULD A PERSON ASK FOR. YOU CAN'T GET THAT FROM MOST PEOPLE.
