Yesterday she wanted to go out so I let her outside, rather than staying inside on a nice day.

When I came back home, my neighbor angrily came out and told me that the dog had been barking and howling for about an hour or so, (not the entire time), shook her head in a disdaining way towards me and ran back in the house and slammed he door.

Then after I unloaded a real kennel, not the makeshift one that I had her in, my neighbor comes out, looks at it, and my friend, shakes her head and goes back inside and slams the door, again.

Should I put her in the kennel instead of my dog? What are the dog laws?????

My neighbors all have dogs, and she constantly complains about them to me before I got one and she knew I was in the market for one also.

Its ok if other dogs are barking all around but I think I am within her safety comfort zone striking distance hence why she channeled all her pent up anger at me. Help and thanks for all answers.

Her mannerisms are normal and she has not changed her routine! I am thinking she got stung or bit and it is just a defense mechanism? Can anyone weigh in? Thanks a lot

We've easily taught our 13 wk old Australian Shepherd puppy to go get the ball. Problem is, every time she goes to get it, she brings it half way back, lays down and plays with it, or drops it and moves on to something else. How do we encourage her to bring the ball back to us, and drop it?

Also, does anyone have any simple tricks we could teach her right now? We've taught her "sit" and "down" (lay down). I would love for our 9 yr old son to be able to teach her something.

For many of us who are regulars on YA, we are in a constant battle with people who do not properly train there dog and others who fail to seek out vet care when it is needed most.

With this issue in mind, would you be supportive of an organization that offers a discount (or free) vet care in exchange for your dog earning a Canine Good Citizen title? Do you think this will lower the number of dogs in shelters? How many people do you believe would actually take the time to work for this?

*The company offers a CGC class and tests your dog before offering you a "vet" certificate to be sure that your dog IS trained.

Once again, this is an a opinion question. No thumbs down, bashing or name-calling.

For the last two weeks or so, she been getting into all the trash cans and has taken a liking to eating the trash, especially food wrappers and tissue.

I don't know why, and I can't reprimand her for it because I have yet to catch her in the act of fishing stuff out of the can. I always just come downstairs to find her on her doggie bed chewing on a wad of tissue

I've been trying to get the rest of my family to shut their bathroom doors and put other trash cans on top of desks, but of course they forget, and they don't listen or care.

Is there other steps I can take, or something I can spray on the trash cans to keep her away? She's a two year old lab, and she'll occasionally get into the trash, but never as often as she's been doing lately,

shold a dog be destroyed because of the breed? I recently learned my local council has destroyed dogs because of thier breed.

do you think a dog is dangerous BECAUSE of the breed or BECAUSE of thier life experiences?

He is a 3 year old lab that is used to wear his collar 99% of the time but now he has an ugly mark, it is literily the fur is messed up! I have tried brushung him, taking it off after a bath and brushing it dry but it does not work! It is realy bad because when I show him the slip leash (showmanship leash) it goes behind his ears and that makes it even more ugly, he is a realy well bred lab and realy handsom, polite and stuff but that is covering his handsom side, how do I get rid if that mark?

My brother brought a blind dog home.

Apparently, the dog belonged to his mother-in-law, and he and his wife kept it for a while in their house.

With its very light eyes and its funny walk because it can't see, the dog even reminds a ghost.

I didn't ask its age, but it looks quite old.

It seems the dog bites as well, so it's not very safe to come too near it.

In these circunstances, would you keep the dog alive or put it down?

(It's not really that we intend to take decision about this...
But the idea has come both to my mother's and my mind...)

My eleven month old cockapoo seems to be constipated. Is there anything I can do to help him? I just took him to the vet last week and he was fine (I spent over $300.00 and can't afford to take him again this week). Are there any home remedies for puppy constipation?
