I know I saw this before, and dang if I can find it, but in the puppy packs to new owners, (I do not like the centers one and this has got to be special for one new owner in particular) what are some other Ideas.
I got 11 pups, (See my other questions) but one pup is very special, she is going to a friend of mine that was attacked in her home My friend went into a hospital because of this, she is having problems, another friend and I took her this morning
to keep her focused on her goal to recovery we were talking about her new baby (pup) I think this is the only thing now keeping her going, What do you think we should place in her "Puppy Kit" Other than the normal.
We have a crate coming, and like to get more ideas.
Thanks!!!!!

R way you are not making any bad suggestions or anything to laugh at these are wonderful IDEAS and I am sure show owners are turning gray, but this is her CHILD she has a long way to go in healing, and she loves the pup she took one look at Nani Bella and fell in love. I have allowed her in to see the pups and it did her a world of good until she had to go and then back slid.
So no all are excellent Ideas.
And greatly needed. Thank you all so much and again have anymore post them. XXXXX

Love Lisa's idea....I'd put that one on the top!

Think of it like a baby shower...
*You've go the kennel coming, how about a couple of little flannel or so-called short cut fleece blankets. Knowing there will be a mess, so you can wash one with another ready, and to keep the noise down.
*Pet spray.... you know there will be accidents
*A collar of course, a nylon or nice leather one for the "baby's 1st"
*A treat bag...... little ones, puppy size
*Talon clippers, AND..... laugh if you may, a disposable nail file, even cut they have a rough edge for a bit.
*Feed and water bowls
*A tug rope

That's a few ideas that I can think of, a few I bet most never thought of. And yes, when I clip my dogs talons, I follow up with a nail file, because we all play rough and nice with them.

Take lots of photos of all of the pups and some video to make albums for her---"all of the pups" because if they are just a few weeks old you won't know for sure which one she'll get. You'll have to see which has the best personality match.

How about a "before the puppy" kit?

Right now get her some puppy training books like Ian Dunbar's "Before and After You Get Your Puppy" so she can read up and make sure she has everything she needs. Get flyers on puppy K classes near you and when she feels up to it she can visit a place where they have classes.

Your poor friend definitely needs something to lift her spirits and perhaps reading about/planning for the pup's arrival will help keep her spirits up.

If she is physically able she can start puppy proofing the house and set up a space for it. I think if she makes a space for the pup and sees it every day it will help. Maybe post photos of the pups in her kitchen or someplace she'll see them on a daily basis?

Good luck.

A disposable camera, and a photo album for her and her new "baby". How horrible for your friend though. She seems lucky to have you. Get her and the pup Christmas stockings too and fill them with little things for her and the puppy!

Maybe a scrap book with supplies so she can make an album to keep her preoccupied, a gift certificate to a pet store and definatly a disposable camera!

You've got some great suggestions.

How about a gift certificate/enrollment in puppy kindergarten? (if/when she's ready for it it could be a great non-threatening environment to relax a bit in and have some fun).
