Cats generally scratch trees and such whether in heat or not. You will definately know if you cat is in heat because she will be more affectionate than normal. She will play around a lot, almost as if she were flirting. She will meow drowned-out more too. Hope I could help you, email me with any more questions you may have.

It is not a behaviour that they exhibit when they are heat, no. But cats scratch their claws on trees in order to sharpen them.
You'll know when your female cat is in heat as all the males will be hanging around, yowling and fighting each other.

cats tend to scratch whether they are in heat or not. When my cat gets in heat she is very friendly wanting to rub on everything and she will cry. Is your cat fixed?

im not sure, however theyre just scratching to stretch and sharpen their claws.
usually a female cat will "cry" alot and be extremely friendly when in heat.
is it your cat?? if so, go get it spayed, too many kittens / cats being put to death in this country.
