I am looking through my notes on health checking and have got to 'genitalia.'
Can anyone tell me what age a cat's testicles drop? I have written down 6 months for dogs but nothing on cats.

I volunteer for Cats' Protection, and we reckon 4-6 months, but each cat is different.

A male cats testicles drop normally when he reaches 6 Months of age, however this does vary greatly depending upon the size and breed. I should expect that "almost" every male cat will drop by 6 Months old!!!

According to this, a male cat's testicles are not visible until 6-10 weeks of age.

Good luck with your studies!

Most male cats' testicles descend into the scrotal sac prior to birth... if they do not the cat is referred to as cryptorchid. These types of cats require a more extensive surgery to locate the testicles and remove them.

They are normally descended at birth, but are very small and hard to feel in most cases. Some will have testicles descend laster. If they are 6 months and one or more have NOT descended, surgical intervention is needed.

my queen gave birth to five male kittens and one female. we could easily tell the boys as their testes are in place at birth but very small but noticeable.
