ok so i have a really big tank for my turtles and i clean it every saturday or every other saturday and i luv them and they are doing really good but the last 2 weekends have been really busy and im still in school and i do volleyball after school so saturday is the only day i can clean it [i have two turtles betty boop, and brueno] and the tank was SOO DIRTY and i felt so bad and the water was low [they are red eared sliders] and they looked not as perky so i took them out like two minutes ago washed their shells feed them and put them in a 6 gallon tank with clean water. my question is will they be ok until tomorrow at 3:30? it has enough space for like 4 turtles to be side by side in but they did seem to perk up when i put them in there. but will they be ok being in such a small tank until the afternoon? and i am trying to convince my mom to let me put them in the bathtub in the morning.
THNX!and please no sarcasim or meaness i no i messed up but i usually take awsome care of them!

I want a sheltie, but our landlord doesn't want us to get a herding dog because he thinks it will chase his cows. I know they have strong herding instincts, but would a sheltie chase cows(they were originally bred in Scotland for sheep) and if they did couldn't they be trained?? I think he has this breed mixed up with the border collie and cow herding type dogs. Help!!

Ok, so I just got a 10 month old maltese boy a few days ago.
I let him loose so he can meet my cat, who's a year old and they were okay with it at first. After a day, the dog would chase the cat and bark at it everytime he saw her.
My cat's terrified of the dog now, and the dog won't stop chasing and barking at my cat. My cat's now in a separate room because she's too scared to come out.
I was wondering how do make them become friends? If that's even possible.

I have a 2.5 female rat terrier. She has fresh blood in her stool. I took her to our regular vet, they did tests, got samples, adn said everything is normal. She is very high strung, skiddish, and nervous. She has been with me since a puppy, never got whacked and still scrunches down when I go near her at first. The regular vet said it is from stress. It has been happening on and off for months. We just got a new puppy, and it got worse. I am going to a new vet Tuesday. Anyone have any experience with this? What else could it be?

I posted a question regarding dog food and why pedigree was a bad choice I could not undestand, well now I do.Ican,t believe the crap I have been feeding my sweet dogs.( I already apologized to them :o) .I checked out good options thanks to a lot of great links there were given to me.Tomorrow I will buy the solid gold brand it has 6 stars and no fillers .However can both of my dog,s be on the same diet ? ( I have a 50lbs labmix and a 7lbs yorkie ) I trust you guys more , before I ask somebody at Petco they the ones that recomended Pedigree and I never knew about those terrible fillers ( aarrrrrrgh ) All you pet lovers out there please let me know. Thank you soooooo much !!!! Nic : o)

Somebody listed this as part of an answer regarding a mouse. I am a biologist that studies mice, and I have never heard of this. Why would it cause pancreatitis?

I am planning to get two dwarf puffers for my 10 gallon tank. I heard that two males don't get well with each other. Will two females be okay together or one male with female? How can you tell which is male and female? Thanks!

Through artificial selection of dog breeding, is it possible to create a dog breed with a striped coat similar to a zebra or tiger? If so, what would be the best breed(s) to start with?
A note to all the PETA fanatics: I dont plan on doing this as it would result in lots of puppies without homes. This is purely hypothetical, and I understand it would take many generations, so it would be dumb to try anyway. (i.e. I dont need any lectures)

okay so my neighbors are extremely irresponsible, and their cat had kittens about 2 months ago. 3 outta the 4 kittens were caught by fellow neighbors and taken to the humane society, but there was still one left. i tried to catch that one by feeding it, since winter was coming, but i noticed she always used to just lay around.
i caught her now, she came to me this morning and shes in a nice cage in my room [well taken care of] and shes acting strange. shes very mean, but only when i pick her up. after shes in my arms, she cuddles and purrs, so i think shes just sick.

she has a very large, hard belly for her size, and she just lays around alot, shes not active like a normal cat. shes probably malnutritioned, since i feed her outside, but shes never had a home before. im gunna take her to the vet in a few weeks [there booked until then] but i was wondering if theres a chance she has worms etc. and if there gunna wanna put her to sleep when she goes. PLEASE HELP I LOVE THIS KITTEN.

i bought it on the 17th and i applied it exactly as it says on the package. its been at least 3 days now and my cat is still itching.the itching reduced a bit and i see dead fleas on his fur but there are still some that are alive.i have kept him indoors ever since i applied the frontline because there are fleas in the neighborhood as well as wild cats that are filled with fleas. oh and my cat rolls in the mud when he is outside, but i gave him a bath and put frontline on him and i haven't let him out since.i will not be able to keep him in the house forever ,which means after all the fleas on him are dead,i will be letting him out.

so what i want to know is will the frontline keep the fleas off him when he goes outside?and will the frontline still work if he rolls in mud?
