im am planning on getting a rodent my mom says gune pigs are to big i think chinchils are a ripoff 100$ and dont say rat cause i live in a place were rats are illigal

Sorry you can't have rats where you are, they're wonderful pets. In general, mice tend to be friendlier toward you than hamsters, but this depends on the personality of the individual. Both mice & hamsters usually love an exercise wheel & are very active & playful.
If you decide on mice, it would be best if you got a couple of girls b/c they are social animals (2 males may fight), but hamsters are usually better off if you only get 1.

Hamsters are easily one of the worst small animal critters you can buy. Although I could say the same thing with mice. Rats are definitely the way to go. They're smart, and very clean and docile. Although I guess you can't have one :( So my opinion would be to go with a gerbil. They're a lot nicer than hamsters and they don't smell at all. ......Oh and chinchilla's are pimp, and they're not a waste of 100+ dollars.

Mice are cuter but hampsters are better pets! Gerbils are even better. If you get a male and female, they will raise a family together while a male and female hampster or a mouse would have to be seperate b/c they would fight and kill the babies!
