i have two red eared slider turtles and i am unable to care for them any longer. does the humane society take turtles? what can i do with them? help!

yes, research websites and such, when i had to sell a few of mine, i put them on ebay, not the turtles, the whole tank set-up and just said in the auction that it was a turtle set up and that the turtles came free with it. and yeah i didn't let them go until i knew they were going somewheres good.

The humane society does take turtles but I think your best bet would be to put them on Craig's List under the Pets section. I'll bet you get a response right away from someone who wants turtles!

i currently have 2 of these red earred slider turtles and if you are anywhere in the melb area i would be willing to take them off your hands

Another possibility is if you live in the southeastern US, you can release them into the wild. That's because they are native to that part of the country. I would look for a remote area with a lot of water and then release them. I do not recommend this in areas where they are not native, though, because released pets have been known to cause problems with local wildlife.
