why do people insist on reminding you of what you need to be financially capable of affording when it comes to pets??
don't you think we already thought about this??

Anytime our dog comes and sits with us on the couch and lays on his back, he sneezes. He will only sneeze once a night. Should I worry or has this happened to anyone else?

I often hear people saying that other players in the NFL have been convicted of things "much worse" than Vick, like DUI/vehicular manslaughter, selling drugs and other such things but they still play. I feel that these people are missing the malicious, blatant CRUELTY of what Mike Vick has done. I feel that they fail to see the element of intent that is present when you kill a dog on purpose or pit them in horrible fights againsteach other, an element that is not there when someone is selling drugs or gets in a drunken accident and kills somebody. True, a death from a DUI is terrible but it is an accident. You didn't intentionally kill the person. You didn't sit back and delight in their suffering or hope to make money off of it. That, to me, is the difference.
What do you think? Is there a difference? Do you think Mike Vick should be allowed to play in the NFL again?

I've had this fish for over a year, I've not seen any more in the pet shop to get the name of it and the pet shop staff didn't know when i described it to them. Ive looked it up and i think it looks similar to a pitbull pleco but i cant find any that are exactly the same as this one. Does anyone know exactly what species of pleco this is? Any info would be great, thankyou.

My cat died in september and i want a dog. I am 13 and am willing to help out alot. I'm even ok with poop scooping. We are looking for a dog that is okay outside, we have a big backyard, not too small and not too big. We would not let it in the house too often just when it was a puppy. Should we get a a dog or no? If so what kind?

My cat(s) keep tearing up the role of toilet paper at night (or probably when ever) when I put it on the roller in the bathroom. Their litter box is in the bathroom so I can not lock them out. Is there some kind if scent that they do not like or something that I can do to prevent this?

My male beta fish only blows bubbles that pop. He may be older since he has long fins and not interested in mating. I've put the femle is a seperate place in his tank so he can see her and stuff. Why won't he form a bubble nest?

Ok. I know this osunds cruel, but I really want a rabbit, with a lifespan of only lik 5-6 years. This is because I am going to be 12 when I get it, and don't want to have it when I go to college at like 18-19. I was looking at dwarfs, but then I heard that they live the longest, like 9-15 (!!!) years!I don't want to have a rabbit until I am 27, but I think rabbits are really cute and fun pets. I know how to care for animals well, as I have had 5 guinea pigs, 2 hampsters, 5+ gerbils (I had two that had MANY babies, and then I kept two of the babies), 2 birds, fish, frogs, a snail and 2 dogs. What breed lives the shortest? I heard that giving vitamins and such make them live longer, but I don't want to treat them porrly to live shorter.

I have a short hair female Chihuahua, who gave birth to two puppies, that we are going to keep as our own, 3 months ago. This was her first and last litter{SHE IS NOW SPAYED], and before she gave birth, she had an extremely short coat. All of a sudden now, she has developed a thicker, beautiful coat, that is twice to three times as thick as it was before, and I love it. Does this have something to do with hormones? Just wondering why she would develop such a thick coat after giving birth! Has this happened to anyone else's dog?

My swordtail gave birth last night. She was in a breeders tank so there are now 12 or so baby fry in the bottom. What do i do next? if they get too big will they be able to get out of the bottom? its a three way breeder tank and the fry have gone to the bottom so that the mother wouldnt eat them. i was just making sure they would be able to get out of there. also i bought first bites to feed them. i was told to feed them that untill they are big enough to not fit in the other fishes mouth. and then feed them small flakes. the first bites is just like this powder substance and i just put it in the breeder tank with them

I just got a Beta fish three days ago, and from what I've seen, he isn't really eating. Right now, I'm feeding him the tropical fish, Beta food that the fish guy suggested. Is it just because he's getting used to the change or should i change his food to something else?

Recently I asked a question about a pesky raccoon that keeps coming around and eating the food i leave of for four, fixed, vaccinated feral cats. I dont like that hes around but my neighbors have FREAKED when they see it, and are ready to take action. To make things worse, the local TV news had a story about wild rabid raccoons in the area that have been attackg peoples pets
Granted feeding strays really isnt allowed under my city ordinace and laws, but Ive explained to all my neighbors that deligently trapped all the ferals, had them fixed and vaccinated, and they all seemed appreciative and supportive of what ive done and wont file any complaints or call animal control on me. However with this raccoon on the loose they are ready to call animal control out to set traps, and im certain some of the fixed feral cats will stumble into the traps and be taken away/euthanized. What should I do? I still have a humane trap and im serious considering trapping and relocating the raccoon myself.

Okay I declawed my cat a few months ago, we needed to it was either that or get rid of her because she was tearing up our apartment we rent, as Graduate students paying for ripped screens would not be good. Anyways the vet that did was supposed to be board certfied but they really messed it up. They used to much glue and it fused to her bones, so she had to have another surgery where they removed the glue. She still walks with a limp, its been about 4 months. She is now going to another, better vet who said it could be due to nerve damage!!! She has been on pain meds and we love her so much Is there anything we can do or does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem could be? We do physical therapy with her every day (vet recommended we massage her paws). If worst comes to worst the vet says it will be a perminant limp.. what else can we do?

About 2 1/2 weeks ago I treated my cat with a frontline-type product, bombed my bedroom, washed all the bedding and bed clothes, vacuumed, and sprayed some anti-flea spray. Now, they're back. What should I do? Can fleas live in mattress?

My 5 year old Siberian Husky, Sydney, and 1 year old Papillon, Louie are extremely light eaters. We feed Sydney on a schedule now, but when we used to leave her food out, she would only eat once a day anyway- same with Louie. Neither eats more than he or she needs.

I've read that dogs don't tend to eat as much when they're fed raw diets because they benefit from the nutrition so much more than they do on commercial food. However, since my dogs eat so little in the first place, would they actually eat even less? I want them to be in the best of health, so I'll do whatever is necessary for them to be happy and healthy.

My female Pitbull is giving birth right now. (And yes! I am a reputable breeder,...Dogs come from excellent lines) The first one came at about 40 min. ago. Since then she has given birth to four more...So a total of five in the last 45 min. Her past 2 litters were both large litters at 13 and 14. So my question is....How many pups do you think she will have in all? First Person to guess the right number will get 10 pts. !

I will keep you posted periodically.....

My dog is about 3 to 4 years old a chihuahua mix and she came in from using the restroom outside limping. She had her back right leg up and her paw was clenched like if there was something in there. She was still very excited and wimpering to us. Me, my mom and my boyfriend felt her whole leg and pad, we can strech out her leg and everything and she even was laying on her leg that was hurt so everything seems to be fine and we can't figure out whats wrong with it. I'm thinkin maybe she pulled a muscle or somethin. Please give me some advice. Do i need to take her to the vet or just keep her off the leg?
