My swordtail gave birth last night. She was in a breeders tank so there are now 12 or so baby fry in the bottom. What do i do next? if they get too big will they be able to get out of the bottom? its a three way breeder tank and the fry have gone to the bottom so that the mother wouldnt eat them. i was just making sure they would be able to get out of there. also i bought first bites to feed them. i was told to feed them that untill they are big enough to not fit in the other fishes mouth. and then feed them small flakes. the first bites is just like this powder substance and i just put it in the breeder tank with them

Take out the female, if you haven't yet
then take out the separater that the fry can swim around freely and has space to grow
Feed them First Bites, but be very careful on how much you put in there
What i always did, is taking a papertowel, and taking the leftover food off of the water surface after about 10 min
anything that falls to the bottom of the breeder can be removed with a new paintersbrush, which you can then wash out and just use it every time you need it, but don't use it for painting once you use it for your fishtank

Hope that helps
good luck
