There are so many muts because of cross-breeding of one type of dog to another, but why are Labradooles the only known type that is recognized and "Named" by everyone?

Does anyone know a different cross-breeding mix that has become its own "Breed" ?

I just was given a puppy, with the banks closed and my debit card lost I have no cash on me til the morn. All I have is cat food, can the lil guy eat that until I get him proper puppy chow tomorrow?

I was spending some time out on Fisheating Creek in central Florida this weekend and saw a neat little bird. I'm not at all 'bird literate' but I will try and describe it in hopes that someone might be able to tell me what sort of bird he was.

This bird was the size of an American robin or maybe just a little smaller, with a brilliant green coat of feathers save for his bright red head and neck. I spotted him in an oak tree and he seemed very shy. Unfortunately for this discussion (but fortunately for me) there was so much bird life around I was unable to isolate his call...

..any ideas out there on what he might be?

im so confused on what to do.. my tank has been set up and running for 6 weeks now. im having cloudy water that will not go away. i have a 55g tank. i did a pwc last week and a few days later changed 2 of my 3 filters. im have 2 HOB power filters and a UG filter. i have 5 chiclids, 2 placos, and 2 cats. i feed once a day and they eat everything that i put in the tank. my levels are right where they need to be. nitrite 0, ammonia 0, and nitate 10. im guessing its a baterial bloom, but im not really sure. and if it is what to i do to fix the problem. ive been told to just wait it out and ive been told to do pwc every day till it stops. please help i just want my water to be crystal clear.

Ok we left my dog home last night cause we were helping my brother move out so my dog thought we abandoned him so chewed of part of the wall nest to the front door (nervous dog)
he also went to the brathroom all over the carpet(not first time) so my dad says he has had enought and wants to put him to sleep.I believe though we have all grown attatch to the dog.Well can he really do that though put him to sleep?
Also still not sure what will happen hopefully my dad just needs to cool off and he wont put my dog be put to sleep

I have a 5 gallon fish tank with two young koi fish in it, and they appear to be producing A LOT of algae and it's really gross looking.

My boyfriend and I bought one of those magnets that cleans it off the side of the tanks, but there's still the issue of it growing on the rocks, and it's not that pleasing to look at, and I'm not sure if it's bad for my fish.

I went to a pet store about it and they said to just do water changes once a week, and that doesn't seem to be working for me. He also said that "algae eaters" don't make a huge difference at all, and really.. they don't even do anything. I don't like those things anyways, 'cause they're really ugly.

So what can I do to slow down or get rid of the algae without having to interrupt my fish? I don't think it would be good for them if I were to take them out of the tank every time I want to clean their rocks.

I am asking this question because I a have a poodle and I guess it bit into something hard and it broke-off one of his lower tooths (a fang), but it didn't come off completely with the root because I am still able to see part of the tooth were his gums begin...

My friend has three kittens she needs to get rid of but I am scared my car will not like it.
My cat is three and has never been around another cat.
My neighbor got a kitten and my cat freaked out-hissed, etc

On saturday our dog died. My three nephews and neices took it really hard, They cried and are still upset cuz that dog was there faviorte thing in this world and it helped them be distracted from the problems there mother is bringing on to them. I dont know what else i can do , I tried to lookin to adopt one but there so expensive to but one. Does anyone know where i can adopt a pet for cheap or where i can get a free puppy, (in southern Caliifornia), I just hate to see them upset.. and moneys short... can someone please help

Do you find yourself spread too thin? I'm considering getting a 3rd dog and I've never had three dogs before.

I didn't have any reservations whatsoever about getting a second dog. However, one of the dogs I have now (Louie, my 11 month old Papillon) is very attached to me and he comes with me almost everywhere. I love both my dogs equally but I don't want to alter my relationships with my current dogs by getting a third.

The amount of attention they'll all get isn't an issue- I'm home all day most days. I'm more concerned about the effect it would have on my part.

So, my question to those of you with 3 or more dogs is:
Do you feel like you have enough love to spread evenly? Has your second or third dog had any negative effects on your relationships with the dogs you already had?

I have checked him for fleas-none found.I went ahead and gave him a flea bath thinking that they bite and jump off. I have used advantage on him through the summer. My other 2 dogs scratch every once in a while(normal),but this dog is driveing me crazy. My question is can I give him a benidryl and how much to give.would putting corn oil in his food help him if he's just itchy.He's 7yrs old and never been like this before.

This used to be funny, but then I saw how much it hurt my dog and now I want it to stop.
My cat is always biting my dog. Both of my pets love spots in our house that are near windows and let a nice patch of sunlight on to the carpet. My dog, Missy, will lay down all nice and cozy in a sunny spot in my bedroom or the living room or something, and the cat will see her and get angry he doesn't have a sun spot. He walks over to the sun spot, trying to look sort in intimidating (I think) and stand next to the dog. The dog is partially deaf and never hears him. Then, the cat gives her a really hard bite on the ear. She'll yelp and get up. I hate it because she looks so sad.
And, sometimes the cat just bites the dog for fun, but the dog hates it. I hate seeing her all sad like that, but yelling at Leo while or directly after he does it doesn't work. He just does it when I'm not looking.
How can I make Leo stop biting her?

I do want my dog to bark in the house for protection. The dalmation/shepard mix is 15yrs and my new beach neighbors want the barking to cease. Can he growl? Will it work, and does it hurt. I can't kepp going everywhere with my dog to stop her bark. Need advice, and where to possibly get one used.

We've had our kitty since Feb. and are thinking of getting him a buddy next month. The thing is, he's kind of a fraidy cat. Anytime people come over, he runs and hides. I'm guessing he isn't as afraid of animals, of course. In his foster home, he was surrounded by cats and a dog and was fine - but that was a long time ago and we just can't tell if he'll be ok with another cat or if he prefers being an only child. Would a trial run visiting a friend's cat maybe help?

I have just recently rescued a 3yr old male siberian husky who was basically mistreated from day 1. he was brought up on porridge and leftover scraps, he has been in the breeders kennel since september and looks healthy now he dwarfs over my husky b1tch. he has lost some sight in both eyes due to malnutrition and it gets on my effing wick when people do this to pets. i just thought you animal lovers would like to know plus i wantedto lose some anger. has anyone else rescued pets before

Adopted a 4 month old kitten in September who is cool except for the fact when you try to play with her she always wants to bite/scratch. I thought this was an adjustment problem for her but its starting to become a bit of a pain especially since she jumps on everyone including my 4 year old. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas when this problem will end. I thought I was getting a kitty i could love and play with but shes becoming a pain. Next step back to the shelter!

I try very very hard not to leave food anywhere my dog can get to it, however with 2 small children and a hectic lifestyle this sometimes slips, like this morning, hubby was eating toast, the door knocked, he put his toast up high on our shelf and the dog still managed to jump up and steal a slice, he stole my cooked chicken which was wrapped up and at the back of my worktop.... this is a new thing he has started to do and I want to stop it now without having to hide Everything forever...Any Suggestions (apart from feeding him more as this will not solve it, just make him overweight)
