Just the night, about 8 hours. Our puppies are 5 weeks old (English Pointers, a medium sized breed) now and have been staying with their momma in a heated garage since they were born. I really want to let the momma dog sleep in the yard (unlike my German Shepherd, she has never been a house dog) because she is pooping huge mounds in the garage and it reeks horribly all throughout the house. Will the puppies be alright if they're away from their momma for 8 hours? They've been eating a "cereal" mix of dry puppy food mixed with milk and slightly heated so I could leave that for them when I go to bed if you think that would help.

Hi, my husband accidently used the sergants flea medicine instead of the advantage so the fleas on our cats are still there. They also have a lot of flea larva. Is there anything i can put on them now to help get rid of the fleas, even thought I just used flea medicine a few days ago. I've heard using it twice is dangerous if you dont wait a month!

I have another cat, and I'm keeping them separated so my older cat doesn't get fleas. I gave them both an application of Advantage earlier today. The new persian is in the bathroom, and there's no carpets or anything in there, except for a towel for him. What should I use to clean the bathroom while he's in there, and get rid of the fleas?

I've followed the leak up the cord and found that the filter is dripping down on the power cord to the light. It's running down the cord and onto the floor and saturating the feet of the stand. I tried moving the cord to try and miss the leak, but when I close the hood (Eclipse 2) the cord moves. Anyways, what may be causing the filter to drip water steadily?

It did this a few weeks ago, and I thought it was the media bag, so I removed it and the leak stopped, but it started back up today.

I take good care of my pets. I have 5 cats and a golden retriever. I recently took my dog to the vet because he wouldn't eat and he acted like he was in pain. After x-rays, blood work, anesthesia, neutering, teeth cleaning...it was 800.00 Nothing was found wrong with him(thank goodness), but after a few days of letting him come in the house every evening to eat and visit..he's back to his old self. I think he was just depressed, so now he's an indoor dog and happier than ever! Animals are helpless and depend on humans to care for them when they're ill.

My son & I completely changed the water in our 10 gal tank (only kept a LARGE cup full of old water) and left the rocks in. My son decided to clean the little hard plastic coral w/ a toothbrush that I used 4 cleaning that was soaking in bleach. I could smell the bleach and got worried so I soaked the coral in HOT water so it wouldn't hurt the fish. We filled the tank back up, put the fish back in w/ the plants and coral. Of course, cause we left the rocks in before, the water was a bit foggy, but that's normal so far. I put the stabilizer & clarifier in & a little bit of aquarium salt. 2 hrs later, I went back in & not only was it still very foggy, but the fish were barely moving. I thought, ok could be normal, they are a little shocked. Well, another hour later and they were almost just floating. We quickly changed the water again, this time leaving the coral out. This morning, I went to feed them & 1 of them was hardly moving it didn't eat & is still slowly floating. Help?

I have two small little tank goldfish (only worth a couple of dollars each) but I just got one of them and he likes to swim near the filter (I guess he likes the feeling of swimming against the current or something). Anyway, he was just swimming near it like he always does and I left the room for a minute to get a glass of water and when I came back he was upside down with his tail stuck behind/in the filter. He was taking big breaths and I ran to get my mom. We were able to get him out but not he seems like he is in shock. He is barely swimming but is breathing. I put some salt in to keep him out of shock, and he just layed in a plant for a while. Now he is near the filter still breathing, but it doesn't look very good. Please, does anyone have any suggestions to help him? He looks in pain, but I don't want to lose another fish.

I am going to get 3 African dwarf frogs soon so I looked up on the internet on how to take care of them. One website said to feed them beta food because the frogs don’t touch the frog food should. What should I feed them? And how do I know they are eating it before the other fish? (I have guppies)

And am I over crowding? I have a 10 gallon tank
I have 2 guppies ( I well have more soon)
And soon I well have 3 frogs

I want some sort of career around horses. I don't know exactly what direction to go. I've had horses all my life, but I know that when you're looking for jobs people want to know what you've done. I don't have any resume to offer. Only that I am passionate about this and this is what I want to do. I live in southern Ky, and can't relocate to another town now. Are there any local schools or online training that can help me get some sort of certification where I could show future employers that not only do I have life exp. , but I also had schooling on the subject as well?

I have a 17 month old daughter and we're looking into getting a dog. We want a dog that is a good protector but also good with children.

We were thinking Beauceron or Doberman (not sure if THAT one is good with children but my godmother bred them when I was 5 and the Mom LOVED me very much).

I'm allergic to long haired so it would have to be a short hair dog.

Any suggestions?
