I have two Cockatoo's. They are siblings and they are a lil over five years old. They've always been together in the same room but in different cages. It's reported that Cockatoo's are not the most prolific talkers of the parrot species. That said...Goblin, who is MY bird talks very little and when she does it's more of a whistle, like a Cockatiel or a Budgie. Phantom, who is my husbands bird, talks up a storm and her voice sounds much like that of a three year old child. But though Phantom talks well she only says a few words and usually it's some variation of "Phantom" like 'come here Phantom or hello Phantom." She calls me by name incessantly. She tells the dog to shut up when he barks. She also calls herself "kazoo' sometimes because she makes this noise sometimes that sounds like one and it stuck...so I call her kazoo bird once in a while. Note that we've worked with these birds constantly. I even resorted to taping phrases to play for them over and over when we were unavailable. My bird just doesn't talk much beyond "mommie's gobble, hello gobble, mom-mie's baby gobble" and she calls herself Gobble Lynn...not Goblin.
I've known many Cockatoo's of various Too sub-species. I've yet to find one who is on the top of the list of talkers. But it seems that where Too's lack vocal ability they make up for in other ways. They are super smart and they learn tricks and other things extremely well. They are quite the little entertainers.
If you want to learn more about Too's go to this site. If you can't find what you're looking for here, chances are you won't find it. This site has been around since I started being owned by birds over ten years ago. I knew NOTHING about birds when I got my first one that my husband rescued from a cold garage in December.
I know, that's more information than you wanted, sorry bout that. I just don't know when to shut up sometimes :)
Best of luck with your report honey. On BirdsnWays site there are several links which will provide you with more information on birds than you every thought possible.

It differs from bird to bird, the vocabulary that they will have. Parrots are individuals, and some could have a vocabulary of 200 words, where another of the same age & gender could only say 5, or none. Some birds just prefer not to mimic human language, and will mimic other things like noises & whistles.

it can be up 100 words and phrases or even more. It really depends on the idvidual bird. some birds won't talk at all and just make sounds.

"Hello!"
"Pretty bird!"
"Shut up!"
"Good morning!"
"Good night!"
"Hi! How are you?"
"What's your name?"
"Come here!"
"I love you!"
"Shhhhhhhh!"
"Peek-a-boo! I see you!"
"Good grief!"
"What are you doing?"
"Mommy!"
"Daddy!"
"Honey!"
"Sweetheart!"
"Ring-a-ling-a-ling!"

They will usually say the names of members of the household from hearing people call each other by name.
