He has always had personality issues, but seems to be getting worse. He is not very social, does not like to be held - but will look deceitfully loveable while lying on his back relaxing across the room. He has always hissed at anyone that does not live in the house when they visit. He also starts wheezing, when visitors stay too long, and then starts vomiting.
I have 5 grandchildren, who only come every now and then; and we usually put the cat up in a bedroom out of the way until they leave. However, the other morning after my 18 month old spent the night, the cat was still out; and when the baby walked by the cat growled a terrible sounding growl, and my granddaughter was terrified.
I actually contemplated the necessity of putting my cat down after that, as it frightened me also - wondering if the cat would have done something had I not been standing right there. I think the cat is acting out of fear; but I'm not sure.
He also poops outside of litterbox 85% of the time.

Maggie is about 6 months old now. We rescued her from an animal shelter. They said she was a lab mix, but she is way to small for a lab. She is 26 lbs. Any ideas of what she is? I know she is a mixed breed.

Here are some pics of her:

and he doesnt really run that much. He looks more like a bear cub (he is kind of chubby). He would lick us occasionally and tries to play with our children but most of the time he prefers to sit or sleep in his gated corner...he eats well and 99% of the time releases himself outside.
does this sound normal?? i am worried about hip displasia - can you even tell at this age by the way they walk?

I have a 6 month old Alaskan Malamute and a two yr old Schipperke. They get along great all the time - but sometimes I think they get too riled up while playing. It really worries me! My mal has even picked up my schipperke by his tail and carried him around! His poor tail is like half as thick as it used to be!!! I have included a video where you can pretty much see them 'playing' and my mal seems to be really annoying me schipperke. In the end of the video, my little dog jumps in my lap to get away from the big one. I am afraid my mal ( who is only half grown) is going to end up hurting my baby (the little dog).
What should I do? He doesn't understand when i punish him for playing too rough! We were thinking about getting a medium sized dog - like a Golden Retriever or something ( any medium dog breeds that would fit that you could think of would be greatly appreciated)
Is this 'playing' too rough?

I have a Shih Tzu and a Pomeranian that are just the cutest! I plan to breed them. But, their AKC registration is restricted. I know since they are Designer Hybrids, I couldn't register their puppies with any legitimate registry, but there won't be a problem with the breeding, right?

I mean after all, my dogs are SPOILED! And, after all, when two dogs of different breeds are bred, it is definitely a plus for the offspring!

Don't you think that everyone deserves to buy a good puppy at a reasonable price?

does a puppy's tail have to do with it's eventual size? there is a chihuahua i want, and she is so tiny, but she has kind of a long tail. she is already two months old, but i'm afraid a long tail means she's going to grow really big and i want a tiny dog! and i don't have her parents so i can't guess how big she'll be that way.

She is already on prescription meds from the vet, and doing ok most days. Will massaging the afflicted shoulder help? If so what's the best way to massage a dogs shoulder? I use heating pads and she has a heated orthopedic bed, but was wondering if there was anything else that might help my girl?
She is such a wonderful dog and I want to make her senior years as comfortable as possible. So any suggestions or websites with good tips to relieve discomfort would be wonderful.

I rescued my little Mindy from a puppy mill at nearly 5 months old. Her owner wanted to breed her with their toy poodle for "cockapoos" but for various reasons decided to get rid of her. She has food allergies, flea allergies, an underbite, and lately while trimming her hair I noticed that her middle two back`toes are fused together. I trim my parents poodle mix and I if I remember right I can get the clippers between all of his toes, but with Mindy the middle two are stuck together and look like a heart with two pads. I'll have the vet look at her at her next check-up because I don't think its affecting her health at all, I was just wondering if anyone knew what this was? Some kind of birth defect or something? Is it common?
BTW, she just turned a year old!

Hi,
Im riding english now, I have a horse already, I rode english 6 years before I got her, I've had this horse for 2 years, and rode western while I've had her, but i am going back to riding english because I like english and jumping better. I am also switching barns.

I want to get back into jumping, but i was wondering how i get my horse into it? Anyone have excercises to get her to start picking up her feet more?

Any other suggestions on converting her to english, etc. would be great.

By the way, i do have a qualified instructor, to help, but i only have lessons once a week.

Thanks!

My dog is only 4yrs and has only a left rear leg.Otherwise is in great health and spirit.I recently discovered his other rear leg will need surgery soon. There's question about how comfortable he would be with only one rear leg that has had an operation. Is it fair to get him a cart, or is it too much?Want what's best for him,he's the most wonderful dog!

i got deworming meds from my puppys vet..he said to give him 1 dosage a day for 3 days..it comes prepared in a sringe and its liquidy white. So i gave him the 1st one around 4 pm i think and then a while later he ate, its been like three hours since he ate and he has now thrown up twice! Now i am afriad he will get dehydrated. Is it normal, people who have dewomed pups have said it is but then a different vet from mine said he could not be the dewormer..I am so confused I wish my regular vet was 24hrs..i want his opinion..[oh he has roundworms btw i saw 1 in his poop last night/n the pup is an 8/9 wk old chi] all nice comments are very much appreciated thanks. im also going to call a 24 hr. clinic.
