I know Frontline is a safe product but it's for kittens 8 weeks and older. I read online that someone just reduced the dosage by only putting on a few drops. Do you think this is safe? Anyone know any better solutions? Help my baby! Thanks guys ;)

Everytime I pet my dog its ears fold back but it seems happy, I read that if a dog's ears fold back that means its scared, is my dog scared or dose it feel more comfortable when I pet him for his ears to be folded back?

My dog was put to sleep on Friday at the age of 14. He was a lovely dog but had bad arthritis in his hips.
I feel so guilty cos I wasn't there at the end. I stupidly thought I couldn't face it so my boyfriend held his hand for me.

I can't stop crying. I miss him and I'm racked with guilt.

How can I get over this and how long before it gets easier? Does anyone else feel they did the wrong thing in having their pet put to sleep?

I feel like my heart has been ripped from my chest.

A few weeks ago I noticed a very small tumor developing on my pugs hind leg. Initially I have been told it's a fatty tumor, but no tests have been run. The last few days it has gotten huge and is red and you can tell it's bothering her. I am calling my regular vet first thing in the morning and get her in on an emergency visit but am wondering about tumors in general. Do cancerous tumors grow quickly? Do they look red and irritated? I have had her for about 12 yrs now and am worried sick... Any sincere feedback is appriciated. Thanks!

IN MY BED--milk leaked through the sheets!!! I'm tired, but don't particularly wish to smell like sour milk in the morning. She normally feeds them in a wicker basket--but it's been cold. WHAT TO DO?

I have a 6 month old white German shepherd dog named Lily who my husband and I bought from a wonderful breeder when she was 8 weeks old. Lily is doing so well in her obedience classes that she attends weekly, and she continues to impress my husband and I. She's now learned sit, down, stay, shake, touch, leave it (to some degree), and high-five. She has not, however, grown out of her horrible
biting problem that she's had ever since she was 8 weeks old. Lily has been well-socialized with dogs as well as other humans. We get complements on how gorgeous she is constantly, but the next thing out
of everyone's mouth is how she tends to bite like no other puppy or dog they've seen. I know she is a puppy, and everyone really does try to deal with it, but I can not stress enough how much of a problem
this is. I wish I could take a video of her and show you guys. We really need help. She shows no aggression, and she is a sweet dog, she just doesn't realize the pain she inflicts on us. If she isn't sleeping, she wants to bite. Petting her is a battle with her mouth... it's literally ALL she wants to do. She has tons of toys, some that she really likes, but the second the toy is out of her mouth she chews on arms and fingers and feet, and twice she's lunged right at my face, leaving me scabs on my nose. We've put a lot of effort into working on her problem, and we have five different dog books to use as references (Why Does my Dog Act this Way, How to be your dogs best friend, The Art of Raising a Puppy, Kathy Santo's Dog Sense, and For the Love of the Dog) . She doesn't respond AT ALL to ignoring her when she bites. She'll just try to continue to bite. When we try to leave the room, she just continues to bite us like crazy, not even caring that we're getting up to leave. We tried yelping and saying "No, no bite!" every time in the past, but in the last few months we've tried not to give her any feedback at all when she bites and we say "good girl, Lily!" as soon as she begins to bite the chew toy we offer instead of us, but two seconds later she's biting our hands again sooo hard and intensely. My husband and I are covered in scratches, and my thighs have a million bruises from her jumping on me and biting me so hard it leavesbruised-scratches through my clothes. The only time we’ve seen an improvement in her behavior other than when we are away from home or she is sleeping is when we’ve allowed her to play with other dogs for a good part of the day. She’ll be as sweet as can be then and have no intention of biting us. Unfortunately the only other pets my husband and I have are two cats who don’t respond well to Lily when she is playful.

We've been considering adopting another dog from a rescue organization or humane society. Do you think providing Lily with another dog to play with and bite will help her behavior at all? We are considering dogs around a year old or maybe a little older, with a calmer personality but that still like to play. Any suggestions on dog breeds that would work well with a German shepherd dog? I would
assume that smaller breeds such as a terrier would not be good to get, although two of Lily's regular playmates are a dauschaund and a Jack Russell terrier-beagle mix who she has no problems with, although they do let her know when they've had enough of her biting. Thoughts?

We love Lily so much, and we would appreciate any new ideas/questions/comments that you guys had.

He ran away last night and I found him tonight. His back left paw is bothering him. He doesn't like to put pressure on it, yet he's still going up and down stairs and jumping onto things like normal which I know will make it worse, and I know it hurts him because he starts panting and he lays down. He ate his food when he came home and tried to drink out of the shower head but ended up not drinking. He layed in my room with me for a little while and then he went down to the dirty basement and is now laying in a corner, whimpering. He won't leave the corner & he isn't responding to me much. I'm guessing he's just tired or something? I want to take him to the vet asap but my mom insists on waiting a couple days to see what happens. I guess he sprained his foot but with the way he's acting, I'm hoping he makes it to morning. I'm really worried, though. It's reminding me of my guinea pig before she died. She sat in the corner of her cage, whimpered all night & died in the morning.
Ideas?

Does anyone know where i can find the rules and regulations and the like of owning a fox in Texas? (If not, Minnesota?) I've been looking into it and my google searches aren't bringing anything useful up. Anything associated would be appreciated as well, like where to get them or prices.

(I am not looking to be scolded by people who think this is horrible. If you don't like this idea, please move on)

My dog behaved in a weird fashion the other day.

I went with my dog to buy a second hand car. The owner seemed to be a pleasant guy. He was well mannered and offered his car at a very reasonable price and the car was well maintaned. All looked well to me but, when I was having a conversation with him, my dog started pulling me from his house. When he tried to stop it it barked with enormous anger. It did not allow me even to make an eye contact with that person. So, I could not further continue talking to him. I just left home asking for apology. The next day my neighbor told me that this guy was trying to get rid of his car because he stole it from someone else and was caught up in a legal battle.

I enlarged the picture and noticed that its mouth had a u shape sort of like a smile, and the cat is most of the time all the time happy unless you put it near water. I never thought cats smile so I dont know why its mouth is u shape while it is happy.

I know hamsters are nocturnal animals. My hamster sleeps all day until 8pm almost, but sometimes he still takes like 30 mins naps at night, around 3a.m. Is this healthy that he still naps at night even though hes been sleeping all day? Or is he sick maybe?

We found a stray kitten who's left hind leg was crushed at the pelvis by... something. He doesn't seem to mind; it just kind of drags behind him. He's very friendly and sweet, and we've already invested a lot of money in him to have him treated, etc... The problem is that when he poops, his leg gets in the way and he drags it all over the place and sometimes he doesn't clean it off his leg. Does anyone have a solution? Would cat diapers work?

One thing I didnt mention is that when I took him to the vet he said he was really anemic and that his blood was super thin. If it was just the vaccine, would it do that to him? Lots of people said I should wait to see if he gets any better and I will, if there is any hope. I just dont want to see him die a horrible painful death. Once he gets to that stage I might not be able to put him to sleep because emergency vets are much more expensive than when you make an appointment, and we dont have much money.
