I have a kitten I would say is about 4 months old. She is a completely sweetheart and I love her to death, the only problem is she wont stop peeing on my bed. I live with roommates who have 2 other cats so there was a litter box already. When I got her she was so small she couldn't really get in that litter box so I got another one for her. She uses it to do her business all the time but she seems to like to pee on my bed first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up. Geting rid of her is not an option, I've grown way too attached. I've tried putting her in the litter box as soon as i wake up, I've tried cleaning the areas she pees on with an odor/stain remover and washing my sheets (which then she just moves to a different spot to go). As soon as she knows I'm up and moving around she takes that as 'time to pee on mommys bed'. I need help!

Can't make an appointment for today at the vets - whats the best way to get rid of ticks? I'm a bit nervous as someone told me they have a constant blood supply - any ideas?

I have a king charles cavalier that is 10 months old. I took her camping for 3 days to stradbroke island last week and since returning her demeaner has changed. She used to be really excitable and jumped around like an idiot when i got home, now she is quieter and still happy to see me but walks not runs when i get home. her apetite doesn't seem to be as good. she's not chewing all my things anymore. its just like she is tired and gets puffed more easily.Has she just outgrown her puppy exuberance or is something wrong? there is no physical evidence except 4-5 days ago she was running around and kicking her legs then it was just like she fell asleep and fell over sideways and froze until I made eyecontact. She didn't lay down it was like tipping a cow over while its asleep. Am i being paranoid? could it be heartworm? what are the symptoms? I give her heartworm tablets once a month but I may have forgotten 1 or 2 months.

I am looking after my brothers Jack Russel while he is on holiday. She is a lovely little thing but she is constantly scratching and rubbing herself raw by dragging herself along the carpet.

She had been to the vet on numerous occasions, she does not have fleas or mites (she has had skin scrapings taken) and the vet concludes its stress related - she does get worse if she goes into kennels etc, which is why she now stays with us. They did try diets recommend by the vets which didn't work which is why he is convinced its stress.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any skin regime that I can suggest my brother and his family follow to stop her itching so much? I currently have her on Serenum, a herbal 'calmer' to see if that calms her down a bit which in theory will then stop her getting stressed and therefore not so itchy.

Any advice please?

you know jack russells are know to kill cats? well i was walking up the stairs and my neighbour had let their cat outside their door. my dog saw it and ran to it, smelling it very intensely. he was very interested in what it was and he kept smelling it but he did not attack or bite it. he is a very friendly dog but i swear i thought he would attack the cat. is he one of those few jack russells who dont?
the cat was circling him as well. i picked my dog up and put him in the other direction and he was fine with going up with me

I adopted this dog from a local humane society and she is a 3 year old daschund/jack russell terrier mix. She is in heat(I'm getting her fixed in 2 weeks) but I don't know if this has anything to do with the way she's been acting. She seems very sluggish and not energetic by no means. She was eating wet dog food for the first few days but today she hasn't eaten or drank any water. All she wants to do is sleep. And when she's in my room with me she never gets up unless I do. She don't even get up to tell me she needs to go to the bathroom. When we do go out to the bathroom all she does is urinate. I've had her now for 4-5 days and I've only seen her leave droppings twice. Is this what dogs do when they are in heat or is she sick? If anyone has any information it would be much appreciated. Thanks again..

Are you prepared to breed a litter? I hope that you are. I always tell people that they need funds put aside for a litter, this is one reason. My ***** (German Shepherd) went into labor today at 60 days. I just got home from the ER vet, she is still there till morning. Bill so far is over $1000 for the emergency c-section on a 1 puppy litter. This pup was at least twice the size of a normal GSD pup at birth. Huge pup. The ***** could not of gotten the shoulders out period. The pup was dead. Are you all prepared for an emergency like this? You really need to have funds put aside for stuff like this, if you can not, then please do not breed. I will be going back to pick my girl up in 6 hours to bring her home with no pups. Granted this is only my second c-section in the past 10 years, but this can happen and people need to be prepared for it. Look at this question that I found that was posted 3 hours ago! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Atay44IUKJnXoJYD3J5BI.Lsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071003194023AAFUvs1

I recently moved some fishes from one fish tank to another. The fishes don't move. All they do is lie on their stomachs on the tank bottom and breathe. Is there anything wrong with them?

My 8 month old male kitten likes to piddle on nearly EVERYTHING! We have 2 kittens, so of course we have two litter boxes which are cleaned everyday. After we toilet trained him, he used to do it a little bit, but eventually got the idea of litter, but lately he seems to do it every where! In boxes, on plastic bags, in the washing basket, on shoes, but not directly on the carpet or on our bed. Is he trying to "mark his territory"? He and our other kitten get a long great, but it seems odd that after stopping it, he all of a sudden starts again. Is there any product available in Australia that you can spray that makes them not piddle in that spot? He is such an adorable thing, i dont want to be watching out for him peeing everywhere for the next 15 years or so. The Vet said he has no problems on the inside, so we ruled that out. Any helpfull suggestions are appreciated!!

It started a little over week ago. My 5 mo old kitten started by not eating as much as she did, then about a week ago started having difficulty with her hind legs. I took her to the vet thursday. He said she had a broken back. Her hands were fine. He gave her anti-inflamatory shots everyday since Thursday(except Sunday and Monday). Her appetite came back. Yesterday, i noticed her hands are getting weak as well. She got one more shot yesterday morning. Today, she can only move her tail. Even she can't hold her head straight. I am taking her again today to the vet. Does anyone have any advice/experience to share with me. Thanks a lot.

me and my family cannot decide whether we should adopt from the shelter or get a puppy from a realy good breeder. ok, so please help me figure this out.

my parents are worried about the shelter, we think it would be nice to save a dog, but their worried, sometimes these dogs were abused and abused dogs can sometimes be agressive (not there fault, we know that!) but we do have an 8 yr old in the house and we dont want him hurt... well my parents dont. lol. no im kidding none of us do.

and when you adopt, you dont get a health gaurantee like you do at a breeders.

for the people that have went to a decent breeder, can you tell us what the process is? i know there are questions they will ask us, but what about waiting lists? do THEY choose our puppy? do they visit our house? i guess every breeder has different rules.. but can you tell me what you had to do? its just nice to know.

ok. pro's and cons for both please. what do you recomend?

I have a long history of talkative cats, but the one I currently have constantly follows me around meowing (and she has a particularly obnoxious meow). If I leave her in the apartment and sit outside the door (she can't see me) she'll yowl by the door until I return, if I'm on the computer she gets in my face and yowls and cries until I pet her. But the instant I pet her, she tries to bite my hand and takes off running. I'm considering getting a kitty-muzzle, or perhaps having her vocal cords removed (that's a joke)!
Seriously though, any suggestions for quieting down an obnoxious, talkative cat! (p.s. no, she's not in heat - she's spayed!)

I'm going to a reptile show (never been to one). I would like to buy a nice cage can i do so without going over budget, I'm also interested in getting a tropical lizard that gets medium size can "chill" with me with out being flighty or stressed and eats insects. Or maybe an adult turtle (can i even buy one?).
