I have a kitten I would say is about 4 months old. She is a completely sweetheart and I love her to death, the only problem is she wont stop peeing on my bed. I live with roommates who have 2 other cats so there was a litter box already. When I got her she was so small she couldn't really get in that litter box so I got another one for her. She uses it to do her business all the time but she seems to like to pee on my bed first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up. Geting rid of her is not an option, I've grown way too attached. I've tried putting her in the litter box as soon as i wake up, I've tried cleaning the areas she pees on with an odor/stain remover and washing my sheets (which then she just moves to a different spot to go). As soon as she knows I'm up and moving around she takes that as 'time to pee on mommys bed'. I need help!

Since you know when she is doing it place her in the bathroom after you get out of bed with a Clean litter box and don't release her until its soiled. Reinforce the behavior with praise showing her the mess in the litter box where its supposed to be and continue until it becomes a habit for her. Than all you have to do is make sure she has access to the box and viola

She's not marking her territory, she's not being bad, first of all. Second, the reason she does it first thing in the morning and not any other time is because she's got a small bladder that can't make it thru the evening(just like a baby usually) Best thing you can do for her is (NOT punish her!) to note the time she normally goes and wake up jsut before then. Take her to her litterbox and even if she doesn't go, praise her for just being in the litter. Do this for a couple mornings, then slowly move the time you wake her to 30 mins later, then an hour..etc.. it'll train her bladder to hold it for longer. Also, have a cut off time for when she drinks at night, so she's had a good hour after her last drink and has gone. Then take the bowl away for the night. She'll get better as she gets older.

Once a cat has peed on an area, she will continue to do so. Unfortunately you will have to get a new mattress for it to stop. possibly it started because another cat peed on the mattress and she wants to cover up their scent.
It has also become a routine. Cats like routing, unfortunately this is not the routing you want. Try feeding her on the bed and playing with her on the bed. Cats don't want to eat where they pee. This might stop it. Also to break the habit, try locking her out of your room for a week or so - especially once you get a new mattress. Also, once she gets fixed this problem should stop.
One more option is that she has a bladder infection. But this is rarely the case when they are peeing on one spot. The mattress has become her new litter, just try my suggestions to break the habit.

i've got in my view by no potential heard of cats peeing because of the fact their excited. i've got had cats all my existence and by no potential as quickly as have I seen that. it somewhat is a dogs element i presumed. according to threat it is not pee. If his water bowl replaced into close by...I had a Maine Coon that used to pat his water previously he drank and he'd circulate away little moist spots around the domicile because of the fact his ft have been so bushy it only soaked it good up. or maybe she has a UTI (Urinary Tract an infection). That reasons kitties and cats to not be waiting to hold it sometimes. it is not something severe. Antibiotics and an Antiinflammatory in many cases sparkling it up. there is different persons right here that say they have heard of excited tom cat tinklers previously, so according to threat...i don't comprehend...those are purely some different opportunities to look at.

She might be already starting to marking her territory to let the other cats know the bed belongs to you and her.
Or she could have gotten into a bad habit. Um! one think you might try is to keep her in a kennel beside the bed at night. And make sure she stays in it unitl she pees on the morning.
Rubbing her nose it and swating her with something that makes a load noise but doesn't really hurt her also works sometimes.
You can also get some stuff at the pet shop to spray on the bed to keep her off it.
Another trick to try is leave it and make her sleep in it. Cats do not like that at all.
I've only had one cat I let sleep on the bed. He was a wander in stray looking for a hand out cat to start with and stuck around because the food was good. and our German Shepherd took up for him when he got in fights with other cats.

i would first try to break the habit, as it was mentioned, it may have become routine for her, maybe try a different brand of litter and always make sure that it is clean.....but, somtimes an animal who is otherwise litter trained or housebroken will start "going" in places they know they are not supposed to, to let you know something is wrong....bladder infection, kidney infection, something...if it continues, not much longer, i would call the vet for sure! good luck!

Make sure her litter box is ALWAYS clean, and that may take care of the problem.

kittens dont get free run of the house. and it is probably confused by all the other cats markings so it wont go in the box. If you keep a dog in the bedroom like a normal person, the cat won't pee on the bed.
